yup it was a hasty statement
I thought it had to do with the fact I changed the compilation flags and some

I know where the problem is. it is in the CXX Flags to the compiler.
I use now -O2 to try fix an ICE problem on hppa
and some function are not inlined anymore (the one you mentionned)
hence the symbols missing
