BTW, you should really have filed a separate wishlist item (or an upstream
feature request) for this.

and the version in testing contains libCEGUIBase.so.0.
Therefore, the package needs to be renamed to libcegui-mk2-1; AFAICS, smc and
ogre will need to be rebuilt as a result.

Works for me with 2.0.0-1 on i945; kernel 2.6.21, local build.
That it works with the older Intel driver suggests a driver bug. I suggest
that you try 2.0.0-4 from experimental.

However, switching off compositing *or* enabling EXA allows Xv output to work
on my laptop. (I normally have both enabled.)
This, AFAICS, points the finger of blame at xserver-xorg-video-intel.

... basically,
insufficient information. Graphics hardware? Which of xine-lib's video
drivers is in use? What do you mean by screen luminosity? (Backlight is the
obvious one, but that's outside gxine's control...)

don't know if it is outside gxine control but
each time I use gxine n fullscreen mode. I have this problem.
Neither gxine nor xine-lib touch the backlight.
Maybe the laptop-mode is the cause of the problem.
Probably. Try again without that...

Install libxine1-ffmpeg and that message will go away. (Installing that
package is a good idea anyway.)

and these bugs were tagged by
'katie' as fixed on 9 Sept, 13:47 -0700. Later, 0.4.1-1 made its way into
testing.
It looks like this simple tagging as fixed is insufficient (version
information is needed) or is occurring too early.
