Could you please try patching /usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs with the
attached patch and tell me if it fixes the problem for you? I haven't
thoroughly tested that patch yet, though, but it seems to work for me.

Powertop reports a bad setting when sched-mc-power-savings is set to 2.
However, according to the info I found level 2 indicates maximum power savings
even at the cost of slight performance degradation. After telling powertop to
improve this
I also confirm that applying the DBusSend to gnome-settings-daemon
instead of gnome-session properly fix the bug for me.
I will upload a fixed version shortly. Sorry for that oversight.
