Hi,
The lastest version solved only partially the problem.
The driver is looking for the firmware in the rtl8712u firmware directory and
not in rtlwifi as created by 0.28 package...
As a temporary workaround, I made a symbolic link
the job !
It is not a regression, that behavior had always happened since I migrate to

. I haven't provided a backtrace yet because
nearly all my hardware is usb-only (except for the problematic machine
in question) - I need to get a usb-serial cable.
I'll report back as soon as I can.

Just wanted to confirm that this happens for me too.
Like the original bug reporter, I'm on arch: powerpc (32bit though) too.
Maybe an endianness issue?

just the new one: the new one just doesn't cover all cases yet.
I therefore respectfully request you re-enable the old stack.
Thanks

It would be nice if this were documented somewhere, in NEWS.Debian or even
the changelog, so the next poor sap that gets hit by this behaviour change
doesn't spend as long as I did to figure out what exactly changed ;-).

be nice if we could activate (by blacklist) the old stack for
only those devices that used to work but not anymore, and the new stack
for the rest.

Package: pulseaudio-module-hal
Version: 0.9.5-6
Severity: normal
Just installing pulseaudio and pulseaudio-module-hal on a system where hal was
not previously installed makes it unrunnable. Here's what syslog says:
Feb 19 14:26:23 hell pulseaudio[15585]: module-hal-detect.c: Couldn't connect
to
Package: gnunet-daemon
Version: 0.7.1c-1
Severity: normal
when installing this on a machine with libgcrypt version 1.2.3-2 installed,
the postinst complained like this:
Setting up gnunet-daemon (0.7.1c-1) ...
Migrating previous GNUnet data (gnunet-update)
libgcrypt has not the expected version
Package: gnunet-daemon
Version: 0.7.1c-1
Severity: normal
libcurl3 is no longer available in sid, and according to #423351 it has been
superseded by libcurl4. As it is now, gnunet-daemon is not installable.
Thanks,
