Bug#660924: Very bad manners for a Debian maintainer.

2012-03-04 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Fabian, who do you think you are to call d-m-o's packages as 'crappy'?
d-m-o is a traditional and very respected 3rd party repository for
Debian and has been for years.
I can't tell the same of you.
You know very well why it uses an epoch in their versioning: exactly
so as people that want/need to use the extra features/packages it
provides don't mix what shouldn't be mixed with the official Debian
packages.
I'm not sure if you're a Debian Maintainer or not (or worse, Debian
Developer) but this kind of big mouthing shouldn't be accepted from a
DM/DD.
If I find out the proper channel for this I'll raise this subject so
as the Debian contributors know that they should measure their words
otherwise they should step down (even a 'do-ocracy' has its limits).

Bug#660933: tupi.png too big makes menu very slow.

2012-02-22 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: tupi
Version: 0.1+git12-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
/usr/share/pixmaps/tupi.png is a very big image. This makes menus take some
time to open because they have to scale it.
The desktop menu in Xfce apparently doesn't keep thumbnails so it takes five
seconds to open because it's dealing with the tupi icon.
I have resized it to 128x126 and this is enough to make the Xfce desktop menu
work fine. And even GNOME 3 that uses big icons doesn't need larger than that.

Bug#659926: [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#659926: xfce4-appfinder: Displays non-valid items.

2012-02-15 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Well, it was even a bit useful as some application I used (and
removed) quite some time ago left a custom menu category in
/etc/xdg/menus (not any official package) and so I could delete it as
it showed on the appfinder ;)
But then it seems that the git version has evolved and so maybe I
should try it to see if this issue is still present.

2012-02-14 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: xfce4-appfinder
Version: 4.8.0-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
this version displays desktop files even if the apps aren't installed anymore
(like local custom desktop files that I keep) and it doesn't even obey the
TryExec key on the desktop files which make them not show in the menu if the
executable isn't present.

I mentioned 'this version' because upstream is already version 4.9.3 so I
suppose this may have been fixed.

Bug#658608: mail-notification: Please add support for national yahoo domains.

2012-02-04 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: mail-notification
Version: 5.4.dfsg.1-3+b1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,
the yahoo mail option automatically appends '@yahoo.com' to the username so
it doesn't work with national yahoo domains like yahoo.com.br (for Brazil).
So I request that the account setup for yahoo should take this into account
(like for instance by requiring that we add the full username@domain).

I guess this is an upstream bug but I'll still check that.

Bug#655322: apt: misleading doc Followup-For: Bug #655322 Package: apt

2012-01-31 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Dear Maintainer,
the misunderstanding about the download speed is due to a mistake in
/usr/share/doc/apt/examples/configure-index.gz
which says

Dl-Limit 7;// 7Kb/sec maximum download rate

(note the symbol for kilobit)
while probably the right information is in 'man apt.conf', which says

The used bandwidth can be limited with Acquire::http::Dl-Limit
which accepts integer values in kilobyte.

Should I open another bug report for it?

Bug#656473: [Pkg-acpi-devel] Bug#656473: acpi-support-base: Fails to restart acpid.service (systemd)

This is not a restart but a start. However, it is restart that fails. I
 was
actually unable to reproduce the problem except for a situation where
 acpid was
not running to start with. Could you please find out whether or not acpid
 was
 running?

I think it wasn't running because I just booted afresh and:

# systemctl status acpid.service
acpid.service - ACPI event daemon
  Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/acpid.service; static)
  Active: inactive (dead)
  CGroup: name=systemd:/system/acpid.service

Also what happens if you call invoke-rc.d acpid restart manually?

It gives the same error as when the package was upgraded:

# invoke-rc.d acpid restart
Restarting acpid (via systemctl): acpid.serviceJob failed. See system logs
and 'systemctl status' for details.
 failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript acpid, action restart failed.

Then:

# systemctl status acpid.service
acpid.service - ACPI event daemon
  Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/acpid.service; static)
  Active: failed
  CGroup: name=systemd:/system/acpid.service

However, the question remains why it wasn't started.

I was wondering about that too.
I even thought to myself if I should just uninstall acpi as I'm not on a
laptop and acpi doesn't give much info anyway.
I can power down the PC by pressing the Power key in the keyboard.
Is acpid and acpi-support-base only for the power button on the case?
I could test if it works with and without acpid running if you like.

Bug#655322: apt: It actually works.

2012-01-19 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: apt
Followup-For: Bug #655322

Dear Maintainer,
sorry, but I think this bug report is invalid. I noticed that it's working
properly as I looked for it today and it ran debdelta-upgrade.
I don't know why it had run '-d dist-upgrade' before but today it worked.
(I haven't been using this installation every day)
The download speed limit doesn't work, though, but then I don't think it's
supposed to as I should probably set it in a different apt.conf file
(without the Periodic parameter).

Bug#655328: gdm3: No, your mistake.

2012-01-12 Thread Sergio Cipolla
:) sorry if I sounded harsh, I hadn't read the other replies.
Interesting that you don't have greeter.gconf.defaults (it must have been
deleted some time as it still comes in the package - but I think Debian has
this thing of not reinstating the config file even when we purge the
package and reinstall it again), I had a problem trying to change the
cursor theme and only succeeded after editing greeter.gconf.defaults

Bug#655328: gdm3: No, your mistake.

2012-01-12 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Ops, yes, it was a typo (now I read your answer properly).

Bug#637045: gdm3: I think none of those are bugs.

2012-01-11 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: gdm3
Followup-For: Bug #637045

I'm not a developer but I think neither of those are bugs.
gdm-control is from old gdm (version 2.x)
and the wallpaper changing is because you have gnome-settings-daemon
installed. In this case you either have to change your desktop preferences
with gconf-editor (and don't use anything else for that) or just
uninstall gnome-settings-daemon.
gdm3 is after all a GNOME display manager. If you want something more
desktop agnostic, try lightdm.

Bug#655328: gdm3: Your mistake.

2012-01-11 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: gdm3
Followup-For: Bug #655328

Your mistake, my friend.
You can change the background picture or just use a simple colour by
editing /etc/gdm3/greeter.gconf.defaults or /etc/gdm3/greeter.gsettings
Those files overlap one another (one has GNOME 2 style and the other
has GNOME 3 style), try to see which one works or do as I do and edit both.
For greeter.gconf.defaults
/desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename
/path/to/picture.png
/desktop/gnome/background/primary_color #00

For greeter.gsettings
[org.gnome.desktop.background]
picture-uri='file:///path/to/picture.png'
primary-color='#00'

Bug#637300: gdm3: Ok

2012-01-11 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: gdm3
Followup-For: Bug #637300

Hi guys, I think you're right.
Probably this bug existed when I first reported it because it had an old
greeter.gsettings file.
Unfortunately I still have to learn how to subscribe to the bug reports I
send.
But I came here exactly because I figured I could change the mouse cursor
from greeter.gconf.defaults (as Gerd said).
gtk-theme probably can be changed from greeter.gsettings but since I'm
using Adwaita now (I use Xfce and Adwaita is the only theme I found
that has a decent GTK2/3 support) I didn't try to change it lately.

Bug#655322: apt: debdelta-upgrade not working in APT::Periodic

2012-01-10 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: apt
Version: 0.8.15.9
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
I set up /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/02periodic with
APT::Periodic::Download-Upgradeable-Packages-Debdelta 1;
but only apt-get update would run and no packages were downloaded
(or debdelta-upgrade(d))

So I added
APT::Periodic::Download-Upgradeable-Packages 1;
in case it was a case of misleading documentation and that was needed
but then anacron simply ran 'apt-get -qq -y -d dist-upgrade'
and downloaded everything so the debdelta-upgrade option isn't working
in this version of apt (I didn't try the one in experimental).

BTW, just mentioning, I have the option
APT::Periodic::Aquire::http::Dl-Limit 650;
set too but it didn't work either (the packages were downloaded with
my full Internet speed of 1Mb/s - 125KB/s).
Since this option isn't among the examples in /etc/cron.daily/apt
I don't know if it should work or not.

Last, just mentioning that /etc/cron.daily/apt has a little typo
when it says that the default cache directory is /var/apt/cache
instead of /var/cache/apt (that's why it was annexed here, it was
the only change I made to it).

Of course I just looked if it would run debdelta-upgrade and now
I'm thinking that maybe that configuration could just make apt
run internally its own debdelta feature (in case it exists).
If this is the case then I would suggest at least to improve the
description in /etc/cron.daily/apt to make it clear that for the
debdelta option to work one has to enable the download-only
option too.

Bug#637300: gdm3: Background changing works, not GTK theme.

2012-01-04 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: gdm3
Version: 3.0.4-4
Followup-For: Bug #637300

Hi Matthijs, I reported this bug back in August.
Now gdm3 has both greeter.gsettings and greeter.gconf.defaults
I think gdm3 has some stuff hardcoded, like fonts, GTK theme and cursor theme.
I've been using KDE recently (just booted again to my Xfce setup with gdm3) but
last time I tried changing the GTK theme for something other than Adwaita it
fell
back to the Raleigh theme (and yes, the themes I tried were GTK3 themes).
For instance, I have DMZ-White set for cursor theme and that 'busy' cursor at
gdm3
start is white but the arrow becomes black.
I've tried changing settings both in greeter.gsettings and
greeter.gconf.defaults
just to make sure.
I don't know how gdm 3.2 is up to in this field so I take it that this Debian
version is like a transition phase.

Bug#654456: gdebi-kde isn't working (possibly passing a wrong command).

2012-01-03 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: gdebi-kde
Version: 0.8.3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,
gdebi-kde simply can't install anything probably because it passes a wrong
command.
For example the picture at http://en.zimagez.com/zimage/snapshot517.php shows
the command
[kdesu] '/usr/bin/gdebi-kde -n ' /home/pessoa/Downloads/meta-backup-2.1-cli.deb
and that doesn't work. It pops the error window
http://en.zimagez.com/zimage/snapshot614.php

If I run the command from the run window (Alt+F2)
/usr/bin/gdebi-kde -n /home/pessoa/Downloads/meta-backup-2.1-cli.deb
then it works.
So those single quotes ' are probably out of place.

Bug#630223: flashplugin-nonfree: Please support new flash-player-properties

Dear Maintainer,
hi, I'm not demanding anything but this is an important feature.

that's needed is a postinst script to move its components to their proper
place (not that I can do it as I don't know about deb packaging).
(and a postrem script to remove them)

2011-12-14 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: kmix

Dear Maintainer,
I'm using pulseaudio and kmix always boots muted, no matter if I set it to
restore the
volume or not.
One can set an arbitrary volume for it to boot with with 'kmixctrl -s' but the
point is
that it should restore the volume it was using when the system was shut down.

Package: gdebi-kde
Version: 0.8.1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
Debian doesn't use sudo as default. Since this is supposed to be a
newbie friendly tool, it should have the same behaviour as all the
other Debian tools, i.e., use kdesu and not kdesudo.

(this is a duplicate of a bug report I just sent but reportbug
wasn't configured with my email)
(and yes, I know this is an Ubuntu project, but since it was made
available for Debian it should be properly ported)

Bug#640724: plasma-widgets-workspace: 1 row of workspaces but switch goes vertical instead of horizontal in next session.

2011-09-06 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: plasma-widgets-workspace
Version: 4:4.6.5-2
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Chenged the number of workspaces from 4 in 2 rows to 2 in 1 row.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
After the change the workspace switching behaves properly (slides in
horizontal sense and the desktops are side-by-side when pressing Ctrl+F8)
but after every reboot (actually probably in a next session), although
there keeps two workspaces side-by-side in the panel (1 row) the
switching is in vertical sense and the desktops are one above the other
when pressing Ctrl+F8).
Messing with the pager settings (like setting 2 rows then setting 1 row again)
makes it work again.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
The desktops should stay side-by-side (like shown in the panel) from
session to session instead of arbitrarily setting themselves one above
the other in the overview.

Bug#637294: The workaround for bug 626076 causes this problem

Could anyone else experiencing this problem check if they have that line

I had it. Removing the comment from 'file:file' in

Bug#639488: minitube: Doesn't support non ASCII characters on search box.

2011-08-28 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Hi Jakob, 1.5 is the first version I use.
But I think I was a bit precipitated. In fact it has nothing to do with
non-ASCII characters as I can enter 'ç' for instance.
It is instead like you said, i.e., after the suggestions are displayed we
can't enter accented characters as the accents display by themselves.
(not that it interferes much on the search but it's still a bug)

Bug#627910: /usr/share/applications/openbox.desktop wrong?

2011-05-30 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Nico, ok, running openbox-session when there's already some session running
seems to open all the apps listed in openbox's autostart.sh so maybe someone
would use that...(although maybe a desktop file for that isn't really
needed...).
But please update /usr/share/xsessions/openbox.desktop with the file I sent
in the bug report that includes the Brazilian Portuguese translation.

Also I see that you're one of the maintainers for obconf. I translated it to
pt_BR (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=607492 ; note
that an updated obconf.desktop is also included). I sent the translation as
a bug report upstream but it seems the project is abandoned because the
developer ignored it and also other bug reports with translations for other
languages. If you add the translations for obconf into the Debian package it
would be very nice. I'll find the bug reports upstream and send you the
links anyway just in case you accept.

Regards.

Bug#626331: gnome-settings-daemon doesn't allow to log into IceWM, LXDE.

2011-05-16 Thread Sergio Cipolla
 Hi, Sérgio,

I was observing something similar in my sid box with wdm and icewm, and
 today
the behavior reached my testing box. There is an important difference, I do
 not
 have gnome-settings-daemon installed.

That probably means that gnome-settings-daemon is what triggers for gdm3
the failure.
That should give a clue for the knowledgeable guys of what's causing this
(if they don't know already).

Looking at the packages upgraded today in my testing box, I notice that
together with many other packages, there was upgrades in the X stuff,

 x11-utils:i386 (7.6+1, 7.6+2)
 xserver-common:i386 (1.9.5-1, 1.10.1-2)
 xserver-xorg-core:i386 (1.9.5-1, 1.10.1-2)
 xserver-xorg-input-evdev:i386 (2.6.0-2, 2.6.0-2+b1)
 xserver-xorg-input-kbd:i386 (1.6.0-1, 1.6.0-1+b1)
 xserver-xorg-input-mouse:i386 (1.7.0-2, 1.7.0-2+b1)
 xserver-xorg-input-synaptics:i386 (1.4.0-1, 1.4.0-1+b1)
 xserver-xorg-input-wacom:i386 (0.10.10+20110203-1, 0.10.10+20110203-1+b1)
 xserver-xorg-video-ati:i386 (6.14.1-1, 6.14.1-1+b1)
 xserver-xorg-video-mach64:i386 (6.8.2-5, 6.9.0-1)
 xserver-xorg-video-r128:i386 (6.8.1-5, 6.8.1-5+b1)
 xserver-xorg-video-radeon:i386 (6.14.1-1, 6.14.1-1+b1)

 in the glibc packages,

 libc-bin:i386 (2.11.2-11, 2.13-4)
 libc-dev-bin:i386 (2.11.2-11, 2.13-4)
 libc6-amd64:i386 (2.11.2-11, 2.13-4)
 libc6-dev:i386 (2.11.2-11, 2.13-4)
 libc6-i686:i386 (2.11.2-11, 2.13-4)
 libc6:i386 (2.11.2-11, 2.13-4)

as well as in the perl stuff.

I remember when that first happened to me it was a large update because I
was waiting for the perl stuff to settle so it was mostly the perl things
(minus a couple that were still broken) plus the xserver update (from a
layman view the latter must be the one that's incompatible with the display
manager's/session manager's setups).
Maybe in sid the glibc upgrades came afterwards, but I can't recall with
certainty.

Sorry to tag an icon theme with 'grave' but it doesn't work.
Not only blankon but
gnome-icon-theme-blankon

gnome-icon-theme-yasis
All three don't work. I remember not long ago they used to work so I'm guessing
that the gnome-icon template changed for GNOME 3 and these GNOME 2 icon-themes
broke.

Hi Yves.
I downgraded libcairo back to sid's version.
From my tests it seems it's working with a mouse theme, not with X's

Both in the 'whole desktop' and the 'active window' options.

Personally I suspect that it would've worked even if I kept the
libcairo version I was using.

I don't think it's supposed to work with the default pointer really.
Shutter screenshot tool used to behave the same way. I'm not using it
now but I think the Shutter devs added a workaroud by shipping the app
with a mouse theme. Just saying.

Bug#589769: Installing jackd also solves this.

2010-09-21 Thread Sergio Cipolla
This is a real bug. I saw a tip in Debian's forum, installed jackd and
could open the Advanced Settings window.
The extra packages that came besides jackd were
jackd2 jackd2-firewire libffado2 libsamplerate0 libxml++2.6-2 qjackctl

Now I don't know if it's like Tomassino said and just illuding
recodmydesktop is fine or if one or more of the above packages are
really a required dependency for it.

Bug#532060: It doesn't accept non-English characters.

2010-08-09 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Actually it seems it only accepts English characters. Non-English ones like
ç it doesn't recognize.

Bug#588052: closed by Moritz Muehlenhoff j...@inutil.org (Re: localepurge defaults to wrong settings.)

2010-07-29 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Sorry Moritz, what you're saying is that localepurge's automatic setup is
broken 'by design'. locales' nomenclature is different from the directory
names in /usr/share/locale.
localepurge's initial setup should be revised. Otherwise it will keep
causing data loss that can only be replaced by reinstalling the system or by
copying back the localization files from a similar system.

A simple explanation for you:
- Portuguese locales:
pt_BR → this is the old ISO-8859-1
pt_BR.UTF-8 *
pt_PT → this is the old ISO-8859-1
pt_PT.UTF-8 *
pt...@*euro*

* the ones with an asterisk are the ones *Debian sets as default* during the
installation.

- Localization directories under /usr/share/locale:
pt
pt_BR

You see how incongruent was you answer? Localepurge makes an exception to
the 'rule' of obeying locales' settings by enabling the pt locale (which
isn't available as a system locale) and it should do the same with pt_BR.
If you're a localepurge developer I strongly recommend that you go through
the entire list of system locales as output from 'dpkg-reconfigure locales'
(see /usr/share/i18n/SUPPORTED) and compare it with the localization
directories in /usr/share/locale so you can tweak localepurge's initial
setup correctly and make sure this problem doesn't happen with other locales
as it does with pt_BR.
Thank you for your work anyway and I hope you have time and will to fix
this.

This is not a bug, but due to your locale settings: The debconf choice is

(which itself can be controlled through dpkg-reconfigure locales)

 Cheers,

Bug#588059: mozilla-plugin-vlc: This package is broken.

2010-07-06 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Yes I installed it now here in a Sid based system and it's like you said.
But testing has still VLC 1.0.6 so maybe it's different.

That site I said doesn't work. I opened the browser from the terminal and
saved the messages (the error says basically that it can't connect to a
certain address).

Before uninstalling gecko-mediaplayer and installing mozilla-plugin-mplayer
I just made sure that that site worked and it did. What I can do if you
think it's useful is to boot to another system that has gecko-mediaplayer
and also save the messages I get from it.

Do you want me to open another bug report or may I just send you the files
by email?

Thanks.

Bug#588059: mozilla-plugin-vlc: This package is broken.

2010-07-06 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Christophe, the minimal system I had started with is an alpha antiX-core and
I found that the developer forgot those old plugins inside
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins. So, sorry for the fuss about it and I think you
can just close that bug report.

Please don't be upset with it, as I said the VLC plugin for Firefox
(Mozilla) never worked for me, at least in that site. Neither in Linux or
Windows. When I saw those old mplayer-plugins I though I had found the
reason :P and then rushed to report the 'bug'.

Anyway, there is a bug after all and if you like I could open another one.
But I'll wait your response.

Thank you.

Ok, I installed again VLC (not the mozilla-plugin-vlc) and opened the stream
directly and it worked fine, full screen too.
Below is the console message:

Now I uninstalled mozilla-plugin-vlc and installed again gecko-mediaplayer.
I did that because the other system I would boot into is based in Debian
testing and gecko-mediaplayer doesn't seem to work so well there (GTK
errors) but here it works perfectly even in fullscreen.

Attached are the messages it gives, in case they may be useful for you.

Bug#570978: Problem with lxappearance localization.

2010-02-22 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: lxappearance
Version: 0.4.0-1
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

In lxappearance-0.4.0/src/demo.c, line 56, the word Column was
supposed to generate translated Column 1, Column 2 and Column 3
in Tab4 of lxappearance's Preview window.
But what's showing up is an untranslated Column 1 in the three
columns. I believe that line 57 of lxappearance-0.4.0/src/demo.c is
what's interfering with it (just a guess since I'm not a programmer;
but it seems somewhat obvious).

Regards.

Bug#567107: Updated pt_BR translation for package fluxbox

2010-01-27 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: fluxbox
Version: 1.1.1-6
Severity:
Tags: patch

First of all, please excuse me for not sending this via reportbug. I'm
on dial-up and can only connect with Windows.

I've already translated some packages using the traditional .po file
system. Fluxbox is different and I don't even know how to apply my
translation to my system.
I translated the messages in fluxbox-1.1.1\nls\pt_BR\Translation.m
(added the messages that were missing in relation to the en_US file).
Besides that I noted some extra window menu items that aren't in the
Translation.m file. These are under 'Remember...' (in English)
submenu:
Minimized, which translated is = Minimizada
Maximized, which translated is = Maximizada
Fullscreen, which translated is = Tela cheia

I hope this will be enough for you to update the pt_BR translation for fluxbox.

I'm using Linux antiX-M 8.5-beta 4 with 2.6.32-2mepis1 kernel.
The source for the translated file was package
fluxbox_1.1.1.orig.tar.gz from the fluxbox sid package page. I don't
know how to merge the .diff package but from what I could tell it
doesn't have any improvement on this issue. I also checked the
messages in my installed Fluxbox which is version 1.1.1-5 (former
testing package).

2009-12-27 Thread Sergio Cipolla
I've booted the system just to send you the info about ck-list-sessions,
sent it and then shutdown and this time it worked (for the first time).
Today the system had a quite large update and also I have been using IceWM
instead of Gnome these last days. If you want me to try to find what was
updated recently, please tell me.

There's one thing, though, that may be useful to know: in order to enable
'reboot' and 'shutdown' from within IceWM I allowed /sbin/reboot and
/sbin/halt to use sudo (without password) using the following line
ALL ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/halt, /sbin/reboot

Bug#538664: network-manager: I think this is triggering Evolution to start off-line too.

2009-12-26 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: network-manager
Version: 0.7.2-2
Severity: normal

I've installed with a testing daily image (24-12-2009) and even though I was
properly connected with DHCP, the Network Manager applet would present an
'off-line' status. So I just removed the applet from the panel.
Now from what I've researched this false off-line status by NM is what's
triggering evolution to always start in off-line mode.

Now I'm using sid repos.

Bug#561620: Please update icewm's pt_BR.po (l10n)

2009-12-18 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: icewm
Version: 1.2.37+1.3.4pre2-8
Severity: important
Tags: l10n patch

Hello, Eduard. Even though bug #533829 was closed (fixed), I noticed that the
pt_BR.po file in icewm 1.2.37+1.3.4pre2-8 is still the old (very old) one. By
the way, I noticed that the de.po file is old too (and you did update it,
right?).

I'll file a bug/patch in sourceforge.net since even though Marko did update the
translations, the .po files in sourceforge's Icewm packages are messed up
(something codeset related, I think, because the accented words are messed and
even some paragraphs are out of place).

I noticed too that the console help for icewmbg and icesound (probably
everything except icewm) outputs in English even though they are translated in
the .po file. I don't know if it's a Debian issue or an Icewm one and, if you
like, I can report a separate bug for it.

This attached pt_BR.po file is updated for version 1.3.5 already (just a few
lines different) and has some fixes too.

Bug#558326: Regarding eventual updates.

2009-11-28 Thread Sergio Cipolla
As said, it was almost completely translated/re-translated.

I'll be using this translation and may find some things to fix. In
this case I'll upload another .po file here or, if this bug is closed,
in another bug report.

Thank you.

Bug#556992: xserver-xorg: xorg.conf fails to set br-abnt2 keyboard layout

2009-11-18 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.4+4
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

I'm using Linux antiX with sid repositories enabled. Before I enabled them, it
was using 'testing' repositories.
XkbModel abnt2
XkbLayout br
set in xorg.conf and it worked perfectly.
After the dist-upgrade with sid repos enabled (through smxi script), xorg.conf
was set to
XkbModel pc105
XkbLayout br
and it didn't work (works as a 'us' layout).

So I searched in /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst and found that 'abnt2' isn't
present as an XkbModel option.
*This is important*: by setting the layout with the command `setxkbmap -layout
br' it works!

I tried 'pc104', 'pc105' and 'abnt2' in XkbModel option as well as 'nativo'
and 'nodeadkeys' in XkbVariant,
also I tried commenting the XkbModel option but nothing works. The only way
for this abnt2 keyboard to work properly
is running the command `setxkbmap -layout br' after every login.

Also the first time I opened reportbug to report this bug I found in the log
file that it seems the keyboard was loaded
using 'evdev' rules so I tried to use XkbRules evdev as you can see below
but it still didn't work.

When I boot outside X environment (init level 3) the keyboard works fine but
after X is loaded it only goes to br-abnt2
layout after running `setxkbmap -layout br' no matter what is defined in
xorg.conf
