Hi,

networkmanager-qt declares a Build-Depends on network-manager-dev.
NetworkManager.pc is scheduled to be removed (along with libnm-glib),
the replacement is libnm.

Please pull the two patches
https://github.com/KDE/networkmanager-qt/commit/00fb55206b0c5cc51bd187ad7b3261b3866c1d33
https://github.com/KDE/networkmanager-qt/commit/62668acedad04da9f475864dc242b5499b4a2330
from upstream and drop the network-manager-dev Build-Depends from
debian/control.

Regards,
Michael

This might be because others are not using Qt5 at all. It's strange, but
understandable in case that newer Qt5 is using chromium as a web backend and
it is not compileable to anything except x86 and arm and this renders Qt5
almost unusable in modern cases.

> I understand that you tried on two machines. Just to be clear: have you
> tried with a new user?

The older installation on G5 is working the same in all users (tried new one).
The G4 installation on powerbook is the fresh one.

> There is the chance that you might have configured something in the same way

Both installations are independent and on older one (G5 one) I've tried
several users.

> Actually you should do it yourself, as I don't have any ways of reproducing
> this bug. Please file the upstream bug at https://bugreports.qt.io and then

Reading the bugs there I've found that it is possible that the problem is in
QXcbAtom::ButtonWheel* wrong detection. I'm yet unable to find how does Qt5
detects wheel buttons and where from it is getting the mouse events.
The xinput shows everything ok, and Qt4 and GTK2/3 apps all are using the
wheel perfectly
Regarding the bugreport. I should register on the site and when I will fill
bug report I'll attach it here.

Bug#894815: plasma-workspace: Lock screen media controls cannot be disabled

¡Hola Gregor!

El 2018-04-04 a las 15:34 +0200, Gregor Riepl escribió:

Package: plasma-workspace
Version: 4:5.12.4-1
Severity: normal

The Plasma lockscreen displays start/stop/forward/backward controls when an
media player application like VLC, Amarok or SMPlayer is active.
It was previously impossible to disable these controls.

In Plasma 5.12.2, a system setting was introduced that allows enabling and
disabling the feature.
In the Debian version of lockscreen however, these settings aren't shown, for
an unknown reason.

The original KDE bug report is here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389483
A user confirmed that the setting indeed doesn't appear in Debian and Ubuntu,
but it works fine in Neon and Arch Linux.

Please fix this bug as soon as possible.

I can't reproduce the issue here. I see the Show media controls option in the
Screen Locking / Appearance kcm interface.

Just to be certain, have you tried restarting the session after upgrading
plasma-workspace?

Versions of packages plasma-workspace depends on:

Given that the files mentioned in the bug are under a breeze related path, it
might be possible that breeze is implied in this bug.

Somehow breeze was not included in the generated list, could you please check
and include the output of:

apt policy breeze breeze-cursor-theme breeze-dev kde-style-breeze
kwin-style-breeze qml-module-qtquick-controls-styles-breeze

I experienced exactly the same thing.

Also I have the impression dragging mails to folders manually looks
somewhat different.

Turns out to be a false alarm.
I quit KMail (Kontact really) and started it up again and then I saw 4 columns
instead of just 1 I was used to and only saw when I had the above described

I just upgraded too and rebooted. Most things seem to work, but trying to
change a (mail) folder in KMail now doesn't do anything like it's not
registering the click on a folder at all. The 'Jump to Folder' (shortcut 'J')

Its available already. atop works again also with TERM=xterm-256color. I
will keep TERM=konsole-256color anyway.

It reduced size of tabs, nice :).

Thanks to Maxy.

Plasma/Qt in Debian Sid is really nice at the moment. Thanks to everyone
involved, Pino for kmymoney and a lot of application packages as well as
calligra and krita, Lisandro and others involved for Qt, Maxy for
frameworks and plasma packages, Scarlett for taking care of updating
some packages to KF5 based upstream versions and all the others involved
with uploading and preparing packages and testing stuff. It may very
well be that I omitted someone. If so… its by accident, not by
intention.

Upstream is doing fine work, Debian Qt/KDE team members are doing fine
work… thinks look good for the next Debian release so far.

Hi,

plasma-nm declares a Build-Depends on network-manager-dev.
This is used in cmake/FindNetworkManager.cmake to detect the
NetworkManager version.

The use of NetworkManager.pc is deprecated and this pc file is scheduled
to be removed. Instead on should check for libnm.pc.

This was already fixed upstream by
https://github.com/KDE/plasma-nm/commit/f97c06cda55195d783c3a852018758558247230e

Please apply this patch and drop
network-manager-dev from Build-Depends.

Michael

Uups, yes, that's a bug, thanks for noticing!

Believe me I understand you, I was the one that discovered that part
of what seemed to be stable public API was unstable public API. But
sadly maintaining packages with unstable API is a nightmare, even more
if it is public.

Until that API becomes stable enough you might want to consider
shipping it as 3rd party code. Once it's released you can remove it
and require Qt >= version it ships as real stable API. If you do
please be sure to put all Qt code inside a namespace, else distro
tooling will believe that it's compiling against private parts of the
API.

And of course, please do tell upstream to make that API stable, or at
very least ship it as private API.

Thanks!

Bug#895421: kdeutils: Remove unmaintained kremotecontrol package dependency

2018-04-11 Thread Samuel BOVÉE
Package: kdeutils
Version: 4:17.08.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

As per KDE documentation said, kremote control is unmaintained and is not
distributed anymore with KDE utils:
"KRemoteControl is umaintained and no longer released by the KDE community."

But this tool is the only package to have the need of all KDE 4 frameworks to
work. So if we want to install the meta-package 'kde-utils', the old KDE 4
stuff is still needed because of it.

I propose to remove this package from the 'kde-utils' package dependencies, or
move it to the 'suggest' section.

cf. https://www.kde.org/applications/utilities/kremotecontrol/

Samuel.

Bug#895386: Qt53DExtrasConfig.cmake still included

2018-04-11 Thread Jürgen E . Fischer
Hi,

I guess then Qt53DExtrasConfig.cmake (and more) should have also been removed.

I'd prefer to have the removed bits brought back over removing more (to avoid
having to include them upstream).

Jürgen
