This is usually defined at the graphic system level (X or Wayland), not
KDE. For me, it has always worked "out of the box".
Does your middle mouse button work otherwise? e.g. if you middle-c

I drag and drop a menu entry (e.g: KCalc) on
the desktop and i choose a copy to be made.
I notice that the icon will have a (!) on it until
i execute it first. ( why is the '!' needed?)
So :
$ cd Desktop
$ ls
-rw-r--r-- 1 chomwitt chomwitt 5,0K Μαΐ 2 2018

kickoff launcher -> right click menu of an item X -> add X to desktop
Now the difficulties that arise for such a basic task!:
1) The icon for X will position it self to the top left behind the
plasma toolbox icon.
2) Its not easy to move the X icon
3) So we must move the plasma toolbox icon
_click) -> General -> Appname=FOO
..then you have one launcher (as we can see in /.local/share/applications)
and whatever you change in the other tabs will eventually change the
same file.
Hope that will help anyone with the same issue.

put firefox (A) in it. I do the same in another activity (B). Now if i
try to change the command line in firefox A the same change will happen
to B.
I want each activity to have its own custom firefox icon.
