I thought it was one already :) This week clearly isn't the first and
don't expect it to be the last. Life happens. Always.

sure, we can also wait for the next iteration and then come back to
this discussion then.

All of this could work. However, notwithstanding that I have quite a
bit of catchup triage to do as frontdesk this week, I'd still be minded to
wait until we can confirm this is a recurring problem.

Otherwise, we risk adding administration (affecting both ongoing and
new contributors) for little, if any, benefit.

both of this could be solved by having a default 2nd person in charge aka
standby.

no reaction for 24/36h => standby person is autmatically asked to step in.

(we'd just need to define whether its 24 or 36 or whatever.)

no reply within 24/36: => absent front-desk.

Hi Holger

If we should have someone on standby we also need some procedure to detect
that this person should step in.
In principle we have a lot of people on standby already. I guess many in
the team could step in most weeks already.
I myself could have stepped in, but since we have no obvious procedure in
stepping in, and I did not want to step on anyone toes, I did not.

So the question is, should we have some method of detecting an absent
front-desk? If we do, we should probably have it automated...

another idea: have someone on stand-by for each and every week, by
default.

I think so, yes. Maybe only temporarily, and maybe only after 36h, but
maybe 24h is fine.

Whatever is chosen though, it should be documented.

Hi Chris, all

Yes it looks like a calendar oversight, or computer breakdown (or similar).
There are quite a few packages in the triage list.
Nothing major as it looks like.

Should one take over the front-desk in this case?

I've just gone ahead and added (and then claimed) python-django, and
will shortly prepare the releases for both LTS and ELTS.

(On a related note, I wonder if Emilio has had a calendar oversight nd
does not realise they are on FD this week.)

If that's the case we shouldn't call it "pinging FD" but rather
"informing FD" (and Chris then should go ahead with the update
immediatly).

Whilst I am not on FD, but I guess you can go ahead with the python-django
update because it's clear that you work on these (as always) and you're
more experienced to take a call when to release an update and when not to.
The whole idea of pinging the FD is that they know that you're taking care
of
this and the work doesn't get duplicated for some reasons. And it's mostly
clear that it won't be duplicated and the pings are enough for FD to be
aware.

Hope that makes sense and unblocks you.

Glancing at lts-frontdesk.2021.txt, it seems like you are on LTS duty
this week. Would you object if I added and claimed python-django to
address CVE-2021-28658? I am the maintainer in unstable. (The same
