Bug#892802: transition: efl

2018-03-13 Thread Ross Vandegrift
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Hello,

I'd like to request a transition for efl from experimental -> unstable. This
release takes over a few other source packages. It also reverses some
Debian-local ABI & soname deviations from the upstream releases.

The status of affected source packages is as follows:

e17
  - 0.17.6-1.1+b1 builds successfully
edbus
  - 1.7.10-1+b2 builds successfully
elementary
  - deprecated, integrated into efl
evas-loaders
  - deprecated, integrated into efl
exactimage
  - 1.0.1-1+b1 FTBFS: #878572, https://phab.enlightenment.org/T6247
intone
  - 0.77+git20120308-1+b3 builds successfully if built after edbus
libdbus-c++-1-0v5
  - 0.9.0-8.1 builds successfully
terminology
  - 0.9.1-1 builds successfully

I haven't done a transition before, so I'm not sure all is in line. Please let

It looks good. Please go ahead and upload the affected packages to unstable,
then I'll schedule the binNMUs for the "bad" packages listed in

Please could you extend the latter with bug reports where
default-jdk/default-jre is going to away altogether because it's provided by
gcj? Things like db5.3 come to my mind ...

yorick-av has an important bug (important impact on usability, does

the package totally useless) that I only notice now while working on
porting
this package to the upcoming FFmpeg in experimental:

The fix is one-line in the C code (at two places).

While I am working on more details for unstable, I would like to be
given the
opportunity to upload this one-liner fix to stable.

I'm afraid that we'd want the issue fixed in unstable first.

Dear Adam,

Thanks for your consideration.

The issue is now fixed in unstable, together with another bug which,
although slightly less severe, also produces corrupted output files:

https://bugs.debian.org/892176

I propose to upload the fix to both bugs to stable and attach the
corresponding source debdiff. I assume I would need to build and upload
with -v0.0.4-1?

Kind regards, Thibaut.

Ah, I scheduled the binNMUs for this transition but these didn't get done
because of a problem with the auto regex. Scheduled now.

Why doesn't that look correct to you?

Please note that cron's init file already had a dependency on remote
mount points being available (autofs - see bug #512757).
Remote-fs.target was added to the cron.service file due to bug
#815088 (in version 3.0pl1-128.1, available in unstable following a
NMU in Oct 2017). I just added to this proposed upload for coherence.

Cron system tasks do not depend on user's directories being mounted.
However, crontab tasks defined by local users might depend on remote
mount points being available in the systems (e.g. their /home).

Best regards

Javier

Looks good to me, even if the last hunk is a bit strange.

That was my first reaction when discovering the bug report you linked
to on IRC. I've never handled such updates myself though.

Would be great to avoid such noise in your upload, so please edit it
out as discussed on #debian-release.

Bug#892845: stretch-pu: package openni2/2.2.0.33+dfsg-7+deb9u1

Severity: normal
Tags: stretch

Usertags: pu

  * Fix armhf baseline violation and armel FTBFS caused by NEON usage.
(Closes: #874220)

This aims at a small change without affecting other architectures.

Taking the fix from unstable verbatim was also not possible due to
2.2.0.33+dfsg-10 not building on stretch - the following compile
error is present with gcc 6 but for some reason not with gcc 7:

Linux/XnLinuxUSBDevice.cpp: In function 'XnBool
handleGetStringDescriptor(XnUSBDevice*, __u16, __u16, __u8)':
Linux/XnLinuxUSBDevice.cpp:401:18: error: dereferencing type-punned pointer
will break strict-aliasing rules [-Werror=strict-aliasing]
   *(__u16*)&buf[2] = __cpu_to_le16(USB_LANGUAGE_ENGLISH_US);
  ^

Fixing the typo in ThirdParty/PSCommon/BuildSystem/Platform.generic
(see #874220) might be advisable for unstable, but for stretch the
different change avoids this change (that would also affect other
architectures).

default-{jdk,jre} are provided by gcj on hurd and hppa. Worst case we'll have to
remove it and the rdeps on those architectures, but I'll open bugs against
openjdk-9 with a Cc for the porters in case they can take a look at it.

Bug#892878: RM: consolekit/0.4.6-6

2018-03-13 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: rm

Please remove consolekit 0.4.6-6 from testing.
It is no longer useful on Linux, so I made an upload to unstable turning
it into a !Linux package.
But as the package builds no binaries anymore on Linux, the package will
not migrate automatically to testing.

I think the solution for this is to remove all binaries from testing.

Thanks,
Michael
