Hi Steve,

I have uploaded all packages. If they will be broken in the
future and no upstream support available, they just need to
be removed. You have done work, why to loose it at least right
now

Thanks for contribution!

This is similar to the result I get if I run the tests without
including the updated keras-preprocessing and keras-applications
packages in my schroot, so I wonder if that's what happened.
However, I realized I forgot to *require* these updated packages by
increasing the versions in debian/control, so now I have done so.
Now on a fresh schroot without the updates the package fails to build,
with the updates it builds and passes tests for me.
I supplied the updated .debs using --extra-package options to sbuild,
as well as to autopkgtest.

I have pushed a few commits on salsa master.

That said, as of this month keras outside of Tensorflow is now
end-of-life, so I am not sure if it is worth keeping these packages in
debian:

https://github.com/keras-team/keras/blob/master/README.md

Perhaps a last update while things are still working, but removal on
breakage? Or better to just remove it entirely?
With theano also being end of life things are looking shaky.

regards,
Steve

Hello Stephen,

I started from keras yesterday, made some minor changes.
But it seems some tests are failing:

= 14 failed, 812 passed, 252 skipped, 87
warnings in 3054.59 seconds =

Please check, whether they can be skipped or the tolerance
should be increased.

Best regards

Anton

RFS: keras, keras-applications, keras-preprocessing

2020-03-21 Thread Stephen Sinclair
Dear Science team,

I decided to check up on my packages and found that there are errors
that have cropped up due to recent updates to Python and GCC. I
noticed that they will be autoremoved from testing soon, so I am
looking for a sponsor to upload some updates.

In particular keras and siconos, but keras is more urgent as it will
be autoremoved on Monday. And, I am still working on fixing a problem
with swig4.0 in the siconos package.

So, the following packages have been updated in salsa repositories:

science-team/keras
science-team/keras-applications
science-team/keras-preprocessing

Unfortunately my sponsor is no longer available, so I am looking for a
new sponsor to check and upload these packages.

Note: the salsa CI fails for keras because it does not use the updated
keras-applications and keras-preprocessing, I am not sure how to make
that work.

But, it is building and testing successfully on my machine.

Would someone be willing to sponsor an upload of these packages?

kind regards,
Steve
