build successfully again, so I would propose to either assign this to 
qemu-m68k or close it.

Please note that such stalls are likely to indicate a bug in qemu. In fact,
I'm rather confident that this is a qemu issue and not a problem with this
particular package as we have had similar issues in the past many times.

Also, the last successful build was on December 26th while I updated the
qemu version used on the m68k buildds with a qemu-m68k snapshot on December
28th. So, I think it's very likely that we have run into a qemu regression
here.

Either way, thanks for spotting this issue. I will look into it and will
file a qemu-m68k bug if my initial suspicion turns out to be right.

I think that's pretty obvious vor everybody even without a tag.


We had the UNRELEASED discussion before, so there are obviously 
different ways to do it. But I would call an upload a release, as in you 
should not modify that version anymore and also don't use the same 
version number again for something different. So you might as well tag 
it. I don't see a benefit of putting the tag afterwards, rather it would 
make it harder for tools like git-buildpackage to find a reference point 
for a new version. Also note that packages might get uploaded and used 
on other sites, so it's useful to have the tag as a reference point.
If your way of doing it is really common practice, I would be glad to 
get some references for it. But otherwise we could just agree to have 
different views and stop this :).



Its not about holding back version numbers.  As far as I know ftpmaster
is not really happy about Debian revisions different from "-1".


Do you have a reference for this? Because I see some packages with 
higher numbers in there and one I uploaded recently with a -2 got 
accepted pretty quick without a complaint.

I added the tag and for me it makes sense to have it on the uploaded 
package. This makes it easier to track which version you uploaded to 
ftp-masters and in case you want to update the package in the new queue, 
you have to increase the number anyhow.

We would need to make sure all rdepends can build against the reentrant 
version and I would wait at least one release cycle with both versions 
to give enough time for the transition. On the other hand, as long as 
upstream is providing both version and it's no overhead to provide both 
in Debian, I would leave it as it is.

the PCL project would like to use the qhull_r version [1], so I had a 
quick look at it and pushed a patch to git [2] to include it. If you are 
ok with it, I would upload the new package as well. As it needs to go 
through new, I would like to do this soon. So if you don't replay within 
the next 10 days, I would assume your are fine with the changes and 
proceed. If you don't agree with the patch, please write me and I will 
revert the commit and leave the package as is.

I found the same, segfault on barriere.d.o (Kernel 3.16.0-4-amd64),
working on my PC (Kernel 4.9.0-2-amd64). The other difference between
these two is that barriere has 8G of memory and mine has 32G. So it
could be that we simply run out of memory. This is why we compile with
doxygen on the buildd only on amd64 (it's only needed for arch all
packages). See #780582.

Oups, it's actually doxygen. Could it be that it's running out of disk
space or against some file system limit, as it's generating a lot of
files with potentially long names?

Exactly because it was running out of memory. Quoting from the buildd:

I see your point, but I'm nut sure about the right solution here. My
thinking is:

- If you want msg from the default path, $CMAKE_INSTALL_DATAROOTDIR
  should work (modulo the CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX).

- If you want them from /usr/local, you should set it manually.

- If you want it from the ROS packages in /opt, I would propose to
  include catkin and use $CATKIN_GLOBAL_SHARE_DESTINATION, as there
  could be multiple versions in /opt and sourcing setup.sh/catkin should
  give you the right one.

So maybe a cmake script would be useful after all :).

Interesting point, what would be the use case?
Should we put it into an extra package or in the library?
My idea was that it's only useful for developers and they would have the
-dev packages installed anyhow.

Dear Maintainer,

with #750184 libvtk6-dev needs a dependency on libproj-dev. But still with it
installed I get an error from cmake that it cant find vtkproj4. As a test case
I used:

It needs libpcl-dev installed and it works fine with 6.2.0+dfsg1-9+b1.

I've looked into this and the bug is actually in urdfdom-headers-dev. It's
/usr/share/urdfdom_headers/cmake/urdfdom_headers-config-version.cmake installs
arch:all but has a arch dependent check at the bottom:

I've pushed changes to libxmlrpcpp-dev to move the base64.h to
/usr/include/xmlrpcpp [1]. Would it be ok if I reassign this to
libxmlrpcpp-dev and close it, or should we split it, to leave one open
for heimdal-dev?

making all depending packages break due to linker error.

Bug#751249: vtk6 is not installable (tcl-vtk conflict)

Dear Maintainer,

vtk6 is not installable (and thus libvtk6-dev as well). Problem is, that
vtk6 contains a conflict against tcl-vtk because both of them contain
/usr/bin/vtk. Starting with 6.1.0+dfsg-4 libvtk6.1 depends on libxdmf2,
which depends on tcl-vtk. As vtk6 depends on libvtk6.1, it's not
installable. I guess we either have to remove /usr/bin/vtk from the
package or revert the dependency on libxdmf2.
