Re: Bug#1063684: cross-gcc-dev: needs update for gcc-13

2024-02-19 Thread Dima Kogan
I just uploaded cross-gcc-dev=249, with a refreshed set of patches for
gcc-13. I haven't actually used this patch set in a long time, so I
can't promise it actually works, other than applying successfully.
Please approach these defensively.

Bug#1000461: add support for gcc-12

2021-11-26 Thread Dima Kogan
Hi Helmut. I added a patch series for gcc-12.

The patches have been rebased for the new gcc-12 series and for gcc-11
as well.

As before, the patches apply, but I have not done any functional testing

Bug#1000461: add support for gcc-12

2021-11-25 Thread Dima Kogan
Hi. Yes. Give me a few days.

Bug#927230: cross-gcc-dev: gcc-9 patch application failure

2019-12-30 Thread Dima Kogan
I just uploaded cross-gcc-dev=242 to apply this patch. I did just try to
actually build a cross compiler using these patches (something I haven't
done in a long time), and this patch is clearly necessary.

The build still didn't complete, because some other patch in
gcc-9-source doesn't apply anymore. This has nothing to do with the
cross-building, and I suspect that your problem is fixed now. Please let
me know if you still have trouble building, and I can look more deeply,
if necessary.

Bug#947235: port patches to gcc-10

2019-12-23 Thread Dima Kogan
I just uploaded cross-gcc-dev=241. A patch stack for gcc-10 is included.
The patches apply (they come from a git tree, as all the other patch
stacks). I have not actually attempted to build a compiler using these
patches, and clearly I have not tested the output from such compiler.
Please let me know if something doesn't work.

Bug#925950: patches no longer apply for gcc-8 and gcc-9

Hi Tobias. Helmut (Cc-ed) is the main user of these packages, so he's
the person to ask. I suspect that it doesn't matter a whole lot.

Thanks for the upload.

Hi Helmut. I had pushed updates that fixed this days ago, but apparently
there were issues with my key, so the upload was silently ignored. If
you build from source, you should get a usable package:

  debcheckout cross-gcc-dev
  cd cross-gcc-dev
  dpkg-buildpackage

My key situation should be resolved with the next keyring update, but
this will take a few weeks probably. If it's useful to you, you should
push the new package into the archive.

Thanks for the report.

Bug#918397: cross-gcc-dev should support gcc-9

2019-01-09 Thread Dima Kogan
Hi Helmut. I just pushed cross-gcc-dev=218. It includes patches rebased
for gcc-9. Can you please confirm that these work for you?

Thanks.

Bug#894745: cross-gcc-dev patches misapply for recent gcc-7 and gcc-8

2018-04-08 Thread Dima Kogan
Thanks for the report. This is for gcc-7 and -8, but NOT for the earlier
gcc releases?

Thanks for taking care of it. I need a few days to integrate it into the
repo.

Bug#878356: cross-gcc-dev should support gcc-8

2017-10-28 Thread Dima Kogan
Helmut: are you satisfied that this works? The patch set is in-place,
and it applies. There were problems building the packages, and I haven't
looked into that yet.

I don't know how much of these patches you actually use. If you don't
see these failures, then I'm inclined to close this bug. It'd be great
to get everything working, but since you're the only consumer of these,
as far as I know, I'd rather use my limited cycles to fix something
else.

If, however, that IS getting in your way, do tell me, and I'll fix it.

Bug#879774: cross-gcc-dev patches no longer apply to gcc-7 nor gcc-8

2017-10-27 Thread Dima Kogan
This actually applied to gcc-5,6,7 and 8. Fixed in version 154, just
uploaded

Bug#878356: cross-gcc-dev should support gcc-8

2017-10-13 Thread Dima Kogan
I just uploaded a new build of cross-gcc-dev. The patches apply and I
can build a set of cross-compiler packages for HOST=armhf. Something's
odd, and the packages aren't currently installable (clashing files in
/usr/share/doc in the gcc-8 and cpp-8 packages). I'm looking into that.

I just checked. The patch set WAS updated to the later gcc-6 in sid, but
these updates only affected the line numbers, so the latest gcc-6
patches in cross-gcc-dev=135 do apply to gcc-6/stable (6.3.0-18), albeit
with a little bit of fuzz.

It looks like gcc-5 and gcc-7 are not in stable, so we only care about
gcc-6. Yes?

Bug#865493: cross-gcc-dev in stable does not apply to gcc-6 in stable

Thanks for the report, Wookey. It looks like I already fixed this in
cross-gcc-dev=128. This doesn't affect stable, obviously. Did you want
to deal with that somehow, like in a backport, or something? My feeling
is that it isn't even close to being worth the effort, but I'm open to
other opinions.

Leaving this issue open for now.

Agree. I've been remiss at keeping the gcc-4.9 cross compilers
up-to-date since they're now the third-most-recent gcc compilers we
have, and they require more manual effort than they really should.

Hi. Can you please let me know how you're seeing this? It'll let me know
if any upcoming fix is effective.

Thanks.

Hi. This is due to cross-gcc-dev being updated, but cross-gcc-4.9-xxx
not having been updated yet. I'll do that shortly.

Bug#781083: Update

2015-04-29 Thread Dima Kogan
Hi.

I just uploaded amd64-arm64 cross-compilers version 5.1.1-2 (note this
is gcc 5.1, not gcc 4.9). I cannot reproduce this issue using those
compilers. Can you please check, and close this issue if it works for
you?

Bug#774010: fix patches for with_deps_on_target_arch_pkgs=yes DEB_STAGE=stage2

The attached patch is a bit similar to the patch authored by YunQiang

 added to the series file.

Hi. Thanks for this, but there's no patch attached. When you do send the
patch, I intend to apply it when making builds for doko's next release
(4.9.2-11), whenever that happens. Would that be ok with you?

OK. Thanks for the input, doko. Does anybody have anything else to add?
If I'm the only one inconvenienced by the proliferation of IRC channels,
then I'll simply live with it, and there's nothing to actually do.
