I have just discovered that lsmod for Ubuntu 11.10 gives iwl3945 with
a size of 73329 whereas

discovered that I cannot install the udev package because it breaks
package linux-base.
So I cannot install the later kernel.
It looks as though I shall have to forget using wifi on Debian
squeeze.

I'm using a custom built vanilla Linux kernel of version 3.0.0. Despite
I loaded every available ACPI related module, I still cannot see any
video folder under /proc/acpi directory, hence I cannot alter display
brigthness, etc. Any ideas? What might I be missing?
