Eu uso o testdisk, é linux apesar de poder ser executado no Windows.
Coloca o HD formatado como Slave e roda o Testdisk, ele te pedirá para
confirmar alguns dados ... aí é só ter uma noção de inglês e sapecar.

Im not famailair with Atheros cards but a lot of WiFi cards dont have
the binary firmware on them, it has to be loaded by the driver each
time. Because the firmware is closed source Debian doesnt include it by
default anymore.
