Hallo,
licq ist in testing und unstable enthalten. Wenn du bei stable bleiben willst,
kannst du versuchen, dir selbst einen Backport bauen.

This is the problem. But i don't know what's wrang. According to the
cd-writing howto all modules are loaded properly. But i still get this
error. I believe it has something to do with running 2.4 kernel on
debian stable.

You generaly must replace ipchains with iptables in your script if you
want to have the possibilities of Iptables, I don't know in how far they
changed the syntax, rtfm. If you still want to use ipchains you must compile
your kernel with backward compatibility (not to remind that you possibly

hi all,
I just installes XFree 3.3.6 and all is working fine except one thing:
I used XF86Setup to configure my X and probed the configuration. All is
working but my mouse is no pointer but a black rectangle. I tried to use
several mouse configs but it won't work.
I have a Celeron 333 Mhz, 128
you can boot from win bootdisk and run fdisk /mbr to overwrite the mbr with
a windows boot sector. Or you boot your linux with a boot disk and repair

Hi all!
At work I have a winnt mashine sharing the laser printer. No I want to
configure my linux mashine to use this printer. For Example after
configuring I want to do sth. like this:
man xyz sharedprinter
At the moment I have no X running (that's why I need to have some manpages
printed,
The simple way would be to make a linux mashine the router and simply
masquerade.what about that?`

Sorry for asking again, I remember it was asked just a short time ago, but I
deleted the messages allready.
How can I configure access to the audio device for normal users (or e.g. one
explicit user)? I allready added the user to the group audio and checked
the permissions of /dev/audio
Yeah, you got it. After rebooting it works. But which service alternativly
could be restarted I also couldn't find out.
Thx anyway

I have very good experiences with the Realtek (8139) chipset which works
without any parameters (PCI) with the module installation at bootup, very
easy to setup.

I think you mean to mount it on startup, right? So you have to edit
/etc/fstab.
Every startup it's read and the Filesystems are mounted, it's not difficult
to do this for help see man fstab.

What distribution do you use?
There are several tools for doing this or you can look at /etc/gpm.conf
(i think that's the config file if you use gpm what's the standard)
