The system-wide file exists as /etc/X11/olvwm/openwin-menu

as far as up/downgrading is concerned:
my system is a rex/bo mix, and the problems
seemed to start when i installed libc5 from
hamm - i guess that my mixing

I could try to build a custom kernel. While I was
downloading and installing (with dpkg), I got bored
and wanted to play maelstrom - but mealstrom refused
to start, same for xtetris. Then dpkg reported it was
having problems
