I have multiple accounts set up in Evolution, first one is a smtp only
account which uses the smtp server provided by my ISP. Other SMTP only
accounts are set up for Google's gmail, and another one for a different

No sé hasta qué punto eso es correcto. El puerto 465 es smtps mientras
que starttls usa el puerto 25 y añade el
puerto 465, prueba mejor con el 587 (o el que sea que tengas
configurado en las propiedades de la cuenta en Evolution). Y ya que
estás, prueba en Evolution con puertos distintos a ver qué tal...

ademas de dejar ping al smtp de gmail, tal ves tengas algún problema
de red y no sea el

i'm having trouble updating my system to wheezy.
I'm testing on VMs with disposable emails, but not having good results:
I had a similar problem going from Evolution 3.0 - 3.4. Oddly there
was no such problem from 2.30 - 3.0.
Evolution's mail is stored in maildir format - whereas
This was the 'evolution facility' to backup and restore... that is the
thing that makes me even more nuts!
As you put it, this is a RC Bug, i don't think that joea-average user
can do that migration on his own.
I'll go to the evolution-maintainers directly to fix this before wheezy
release.
