Basicly, the line prompt should ask you which OS to boot. Take it out, and all you will be getting at boot will be: LILO, then pause, during which you can hit Alt/Ctrl/Tab and select OS to which to boot ( Just type in the label name), or can just wait 5 seconds and linux will boot automaticly.

Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately using the [EMAIL PROTECTED] settings results in exactly the same thing, namely wavey lines initially on startup (after 2-10 seconds it blanks the screen and then it comes up OK) when using the 1024x768 res. Thanks in advance for any further hints. Ian Winter
