MD5 checksums suitable for use with md5sum -cv are in
/var/lib/dpkg/info/*.md5sums . Unfortunately, not _all_ packages
produce md5sums files, but you'll be able to check the ones that do.

So I installed libc5-dev_5.4.20-1.deb.
Nope, install libc5_, not libc5-dev_ The -dev version means developer, and
is for use in compiling programs, not executing them.

It's poorly documented and it needs to be replaced with something less
cryptic - all of the alternatives for boot manager are in some way
lacking at the moment.

I think xntpd will work with a GPS receiver. The GPS receiver puts out an
accurate time signal which is derived from an atomic clock. At $150 for nice
receivers like the Garmin GPS II, it's the best value.

I'm stumped. Connects from my mail delivery system are being refused by
hotmail, oreilly.com, brics.dk, and a number of other sites. I suspect
that I've done something stupid in my DNS and am being rejected by sites
that set ALL: PARANOID in /etc/hosts.deny . I don't see my system in the
RBL, DUL,
I asked a day ago about a problem with my DNS. It turns out that

The judge has denied the DVD Copy Control Consortium's motion. There will
be no temporary restraining order to block you from distributing the DeCSS

I have a SuperMicro motherboard with a temperature alarm. The alarm beeps
