Se que esto es viejo, pero tenía el mismo problema entre 2 archivos scripts en 
una llamada
para pasar una cadena con blanco, y gracias a tu ejemplo empecé a probar en una 
soloscript, al final encontré esta solucién, divide y triunfarás...

Veo que no soy la única con este problema, igual a mi me toco trabajar en
una empresa 100% windows, y la verdad es todo un parto, además que no me
dejan instalar nada, ya que la empresa tiene licencia y todo, pero encontré
la solución creando un sistema linux portable.

He creado mi flash donde esta mi linux 3 y al llegar a mi ofi lo único que
hago es colocar el flash y encender la máquina y wuala ya estoy con linux.
Trabajo tranquila, y al irme, sólo tengo que apagar la máquina y sacar mi
flash, y su cochino sistema operativo (si se puede llamar así a eso) esta
intacto.

Por si, ahí puedes instalar algunas aplicaciones de ayuda, inclusive probé
con un disco externo de un tera sin ningún lió.

Duda con lspci

Buenas.

Estoy teniendo un problema con una tarjeta pci wifi (AirPlus G
DWL-G510 Wireless PCI ). En windows reconoce un dispositivo, aunque
parece que no deja instalarlo correctamente. En linux no me saca nada
con el comando lspci ni con lshw. He estado buscando por la red como
ponerle el modulo [1] y ya esta hasta empaquetado.

Mi pregunta es:

¿lspci no mira los puertos en crudo? Es decir que si hay algo
conectado lo mostrara, aunque sea como unknown. ¿No es así?

Creo que la tarjeta esta rota, pero me gustaría poder confirmarlo.

Configuracion thunderbird 8, no romper hilo con [solucionado] delante del asunto

Buenas a todos

Tengo squezee con thunderbird 8. Cuando alguien responde al hilo
poniendo el [solucionado] (O lo que sea) delante del asunto, me rompe el
hilo. Por lo que he leido a otros no les sucede. Me estaba preguntando
si es por culpa de mi configuración ( según creo recordar, casi no
tocada) o si el comportamiento es el normal y esperado.

No he buscado en internet, me ha surgido la duda al leer un post de
esta lista. Entono el mea culpa y si no quieren contestar lo entendere.

Yo pagaría, no importa el costo, ya que siempre he podido confiar en este,
nunca me fallo, incluyo, muchos estarán de acuerdo, que el sistema es más
estable, fácil de manejar, es lógico y hace lo que tiene que hacer, no como
otro, que no voy a mencionar.

En  el lado deportivo, han hecho desaparecer el miacute;tico INJUDE, se 
estaacute;  asfixiando en cuanto a subvenciones a los clubes deportivos.
En cuanto al ocio, muchos de  vosotros, me transmitiacute;s vuestro pesar, de 
que no encontraacute;is nada en  Lorca en donde invertir vuestro ocio y tiempo 
libre.
En Medio Ambiente, todo sigue igual. No se ha construiacute;do ninguacute;n

disable shutdown in System menu in gnome (not splash screen)

Hello all,

I cannot believe how difficult this is to figure out. In Debian Lenny, 
Shut Down appears in the System menu in the top panel by default, for 
all users. In Debian Squeeze, this does not appear to be the case. I 
have looked in every gnome configuration file and gui I can think of, 
but can't figure out how to remove Shut Down from this menu. I thought I 
had finally found it in /etc/xdg/menus/gnome-settings.menu, so I tried 
copying the Squeeze version of that file to my Lenny installation, but 
it seemed to have no effect. I can't believe that the default is to have 
Shut Down appear in the menu, just under Log Out, for normal users. I am 
trying to remove it because I have had users accidentally shutdown 
machines when trying to log out. I am also amazed at how hard it is to 
figure out how to remove this. Help!

esperienca con esto???

cyrus missing socket

Hello,

I seem to be having problems with cyrus, because for some reason the
lmtp socket is missing. I thought cyrus would create the socket, after I
added the following line to cyrus.conf and restarted:

lmtpunixcmd=lmtpd listen=/var/run/cyrus/socket/lmtp prefork=0
maxchild=20

But, it didn't
I had also told postfix about the socket.

The directory is owned by cyrus:lmtp. Out of curiousity, I changed it to
be owned by cyrus:mail, and when I restarted cyrus, I got the message:

changed ownership of 'var/run/cyrus/socket' to cyrus:lmtp cyrmaster. So,
I know that it can write to the directory.

So then I thought, maybe I'm suppose to be using some other socket that
is already there, so I searched for an lmtp socket, and found:

/var/spool/postfix/private/lmtp

But, that didn't seem right. Anyone know how the lmtp socket is suppose
to get to the cyrus directory?

My mind was running in the wrong channel when I suggested python-mode.

I use emacs21, and C-c C-c on a latex file does work. Out of curiosity
I installed xemacs-nomule, which also works on my system. The only thing
that I could see different from your installation is that the latest version
of xemacs 21 in lenny is 21.4.21-4. So you might try updating. You do have
the latest version of auctex. I doubt that the problem is your configuration,
unless somehow you managed to undefine C-c C-c.

Sorry I offered the wrong advice earlier.

No problem. Updating to latest version didn't help, so I think I must 
have managed to undefine C-c C-c somehow. No idea how I would have done 
that, or how to get it back. I tried getting rid of my config files to 
see if that would help, but no joy.

According to the auctex manual, C-c C-c is a shortcut to the command
TeX-command-master. If M-x TeX-command-master works, you could
assign the command to C-c C-c in the configuration file. If it does
not work, check whether xemacs is in LaTeX mode when you open a .tex
file. If it is in LaTeX mode, then I am stumped. If not, I don't recall
how to bring up minor modes, but the emacs manual should help. If it 
does not, let me know and I'll try to find out.

Reading the manual, how quaint. ;-) So,the manual said:
   For GNU Emacs, the recommended way to activate AUCTeX is to add the
following line to your `.emacs' file:

 (require 'tex-site)

And, this did the trick! Thanks for your help (and for not immediately 
yelling rtfm), and my apologies for not thinking to look at the manual 
in the first place. It had always just happened automagically for me 
before, so figured something was actually wrong. Apparently this line 
was not necessary in .emacs before, as I don't think I've done anything 
to my .emacs, and it use to work just fine.

I'm afraid this is not much help, but wanted to let you know you are not 
alone. I struggled with problems with slapd and tls with lenny for quite 
some time, and I finally decided that tls with openldap in debian is 
still buggy, and gave up, planning on trying again in a month or so. It 
seems the problem is something to do with debian switching from openssl 
to guntls-cli, as things worked fine when debian was still using 
openssl. With luck though, we both have something trivially wrong with 
our configs, and someone else will chime in with an actual solution...

ldap and tls

I have been trying to get ldap to work with tls for a while, and have 
been having a hard time. When I have the certificate info in slapd.conf, 
slapd refuses to start, giving me the error:


main: TLS init def ctx failed: -1

With the certificate lines commented out, slapd starts with no problem, 
of course. I've done a bunch of poking about, and the problem seems to 
be related to the change in the way slapd is built in debian. With 
Lenny, debian slapd is built with libgnutls instead of openssl. 
Unfortunately, all of the instructions I can find for setting up 
certificates for debian slapd use openssl. How do I get certificates 
made with openssl to work with slapd now that it is build with 
libgnutls, or is there another way to make certificates now? And how do 
I verify that my certificates are built correctly using libgnutls? It 
seems to be set up correctly, but I'm not sure how to test the 
certificates themselves:

user shutdown

Hello,

I have had a couple of users accidentally shutdown computers, because 
there is a shutdown button under the log off button on the Systems 
dropdown menu. I had thought the default for debian was to disable user 
shutdown (ie. root only), but apparently this is wrong, or has changed. 
How can I disable this menu item? I was able to find instructions on how 
to disable this in the login screen, but not from this menu after you 
have logged in. I'm sure there must be a setting to disable this, but 
can't find it anywhere.

I don't know anything about wraplinux. My server is on sarge and I booted
few clients with no problem, but I used custom initrd (and kernel).

I also don't understand (created image, and stuck it on a floppy). Did you
use the floppy to flash your network card's bios or to boot from?

I would just check the initrd file

cd /tmp
mkdir test
cd test
zcat /boot/INITRD | cpio -i -H newc

... do whatever you need to mount rw ...

find . ! -name *~ | cpio -H newc --create | gzip -9  /boot/INITRD

watch out - this will overwrite your initrd, so make backup

Thanks for the response. I am putting a gPXE image on a floppy, and 
booting from the floppy. From there it downloads the kernel with initrd, 
runs all of the way through the initrd file, and all of the way through 
/sbin/init as well, actually (but there are errors during init). Initrd 
is able to mount the root file system as read-only, which is what is 
suppose to happen. The problem is that init is not able to start statd, 
so cannot remount the root file directory according to fstab as a 
read-write mount. I thought at first that statd wasn't starting because 
portmap wasn't starting, but I downgraded portmap to 5-26 from etch, and 
now portmap will start, but statd still doesn't start. When I try to 
start statd from the command line, I get:


/var/run/rpc.statd.pid failed: Read-only file system.

Which seems really bizarre, as I need statd in order to mount the root 
file system as read-write. So if anyone knows a way to start statd 
temporarily without a pid until the root file system mounts read-write, 
that would probably solve my problem.

compiled a kernel for it, Debian Lenny Linux version 2.6.26, with nfs 
file system and root file system support. For a complete rundown on how 
I have created the setup, please see:

Things work well up until it is time to mount the file system from 
fstab. The mount is not happening because statd is never started, and 
statd is not starting because portmap is not starting. I suspect it is 
related to this bug:

In that discussion some people say that portmap 6.0.9 fixes this for 
them, but this is the version of portmap I am using, and it has not

anyone has any other ideas of things to try to get this to work. I did 
try the suggestion of adding ASYNCMOUNTNFS=no to /etc/default/rcS, to no 
avail.

Update: I tried installing an earlier version of portmap (etch 5-26), 
and this helped moderately. I now have portmap running, but statd still 
did not start up. It complains that: Opening /var/run/rpc.statd.pid 
failed: Read-only file system. Well, duh, that is why I am trying to get 
statd running! Any way I can start statd without a pid until I get the 
root file system mounted rw? Or something else to try?

I have an ACER TM7720 (ATI Mobility Radeon 2400 XT card)
laptop under Debian 4.0.
When I press Alt-Ctrl-F1 from the gdm login window or from the gnome
desktop to switch session and then come back with Alt-Ctrl-F7, the
screen is screwed up with a mess of colors; mouse and keyboard seem to
work fine. I have to press Alt-Ctrl-Backspace to recover the login
window.
What package does my bug report belong to?

sites em flash que não funcionam direito

Gente, alguns sites feitos em flash não funcionam direito com nenhum
browser no gnu/debian. Ou o site todo ou uma moda besta que tem agora
de colocar uma propaganda em flash, que você passa o mouse para ver o
anuncio.
Não sei se essa idéia infeliz funciona, mas o fato é que fica um
quadro branco na frente do conteudo.

Procurando no google eu vi de um a tudo para resolver e não adiantou.
Já troquei o plugin flash livre pelo proprietario baixado do site da
adobe, já pus o agent switcher para fingir que estou navegando com o
IEca, e nada ...

Pergunto: alguem consegue ver sites com flash  aqui? Um exemplo é o
http://www.oi.com.br/data/Pages/30E5C7B0PTBRIE.htm, que é o site da OI
internet.

Utilitze Evolution d'Ubuntu per a l'e-mail. Darrerament els correus que envie a comptes de hotmail des de comptes de terra m'ixen tots retornats amb un missatge que diu:

 El programa de filtrado de servidores del destinatario rechaz el mensaje.
ste es el motivo del rechazo:

 Correo desactivado, el destino no acepta mensajes

Tot seguit prove d'enviar-ho des d'un compte de gmail i no dna cap problema. Alg t idea de qu hi pot estar passant?

Tentei isso e não deu nenhuma mensagem na tela, então parti para a
solução a lá windows: formatei tudo e reinstalei do zero!
Foi bom porque tive o sabor de pilotar o novo debian installer
grafico. Escolhi a opção normal para usuários comuns, como euzinha. Só
me confundi um pouco na hora de particionar o disco, pois queria fazer
tudo manual para preservar minha partição home, no caso achei os
termos meio confusos. Mas consegui fazer.
Além da grata surpresa com o DI novo, a inicialização do SO ficou
incrivelmente mais rapida! Valeu a pena. Agora estou reinstalando meus
programas favoritos um a um, como o blender.

Vou procurar me manter no testing, pois não dá pra ficar mais de um
mês sem impressora de agora para frente, ou com outra
indisponibilidade qualquer por causa de acidentes com a unstable.

equete: tem algum usuário de unstable que está conseguindo imprimir?

Gente, estou a um tempão sem funcionar impressora em casa. Uso debian
unstable, e nunca tinha provado o dissabor de ter um serviço parado
por causa de um bug. Aliás, é por isso que coloquei este subject: isso
é um bug do CUPS ou só acontece aqui em casa? Pela mensagem de erro eu
procurei no google e tem muita gente com o mesmo problema desde final
de junho, inclusive com bug-reports. Mas até o ultimo dist-upgrade
nada de conseguir imprimir.
Pelo gnome-cups-manager eu consigo apagar e reinstalar a impressora,
mas não imprime. Pela interface web do cups em localhost:631 bão é
possível fazer nada. Se clico em manage printers, figa aguardando
até que não vem.
O log de erro do cups diz: admin.cgi stopped with status 2!. Outra
hora aparece: no authentication data provided
Estou baixando a ultima imagem do debian testing, e vou reinstalar
minha máquina do zero, ao mlehor estilo windows way of life!
Vou fazer isso porque já removi o cups e todas as dependencias, usando
o purge inclusive, e não adiantou.
Por onde começar a cercar o problema

sem tem registrado as mudanças, como você saberia que o nome original
de .294 era teste.csv?


Isso é impossível. O que estou fazendo é abrir arquivo por arquivo e
renomeando com um nome que tenha algo a ver com o conteúdo. Recuperar
o nome antigo não tem jeito. Meus 2 neurônios se entendem bem, quando
trabalham juntos ...

ot Desafazer renomear arquivos

Gente,

Usei as funcoesZZ para renomear um lote de arquivos usando o comando
zzarrumanome. Acontece que, não sei como, os arquivos, mais de 1500,
ficaram numerados e ocultos. O erro durante o processamento foi:

sed: -e expressão #1, caractere 218: strings for `y' command are
different lengths
`termo_cessao.rtf' - `./.291'
sed: -e expressão #1, caractere 218: strings for `y' command are
different lengths
`termo_convenio.rtf' - `./.292'
sed: -e expressão #1, caractere 218: strings for `y' command are
different lengths
`teste1.csv' - `./.293'
sed: -e expressão #1, caractere 218: strings for `y' command are
different lengths
`teste.csv' - `./.294'

Isso eu copiei quando vi que dava erro.
Ou seja, o zzarrumanome renomeou todos os arquivos, inclusive os que
tinham o nome certinho, para um número oculto.
Tem como desfazer isso??? Infelizmente só tenho esse trecho do erro...
Se não tiver jeito, vou ter de renomear na unha usando o konqueror.
Por favor, não riam de mim. Até porque poderia ser pior né, ao invés
de bagunçar os nomes o zzarrumanome poderia ter deletado tudo ...

Devolver mails a ciertas direcciones con procmail

Buenas,

Soy una usuaria, que no administradora, de Debian con
un grave problema de spam :-|

Tengo un dominio @inventado.com que a nivel proveedor
tengo configurado con Catch-All.

Bien.

Pues me encuentro con que los señores spammeadores se
han especializado en ciertas direcciones de mi dominio
(pej: [EMAIL PROTECTED] o
[EMAIL PROTECTED]), direcciones que quiero
eliminar. Así dejaría de recibir todo el spam que
recibo en esas direcciones, que además sólo las usan
los spammeadores, la que tienen mis amigos son otras
(unos unas, otros otras).

Lo que se me había ocurrido era filtrar esas
direcciones con el procmail de manera que los correos
enviados a esas direcciones (en concreto) fueran
devueltos. No quiero meterlos en carpetas especiales
de spam, de esa manera ya tengo suficientes mails, los
quiero devolver directamente (para minimizar, así, los
falsos positivos).

Se me ocurrió redirigir los mails a una dirección
inventada:

:0
* ^To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
! [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Pero no funciona... El mail me viene devuelto a mí, no
al spammer...

Investigando más, probé la combinación Procmail +
formail:

:0 fhw
* ^To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
| formail -I To:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Pero tampoco... me llega igualmente el mail, pero con
la dirección reescrita (en mi buzón me aparece un mail
enviado a [EMAIL PROTECTED], kk).

¿Alguien me sabría explicar cómo redirigir los mails a
un buzón inexistente y que el error correspondiente no
me viniera a mí sino al spammer?

Eso, o alguna solución mejor...

 remitente, ni siquiera

interesa le sea devuelto al que lo envía en forma de

Un spammer no se puede aprovechar para nada de ésto

donde no la hay (el mail va a una dirección que ahora
mismo existe pero yo quiero que deje de existir de
manera sencilla).

El proveedor me lo redirecciona.

 Dependiendo de eso pueden existir diferentes
 soluciones, pero si las
 direcciones s�lo reciben spam no entiendo por

 sigues bajando mensajes
 dirigidas a estas. Mejor d�jalas descansar en paz
si
 no puedes eliminarlas,
 o derechamente elim�nalas si est� en tu poder.

 /dev/null, pero nunca contestes un spam.

Porque en el muy hipotético caso de llegar un mail
legítimo no quiero borrarlo y que la otra persona se
piense que lo he leído. Devolviéndolo me aseguro que
la persona que lo envió vea que yo no lo he leído.

El tema està en que de siempre he dicho que acepto
cualquier cosa a @inventado.com, así que ahora no
puedo eliminar lo que me llega a ciertas direcciones,
si el día de mañana a alguien le da por escribirme a
alguna de esas direcciones (que yo nunca he dado a
nadie, así que no sé de dónde han salido) no quiero
crear malos entendidos.

Leída toda la explicación de los MTAs, que me ha
parecido muy interesante (¡gracias!) y partiendo de
la idea que uso Thunderbird (con su correspondiente
filtro bayeasiano) para leer el correo (por lo que
bogofilter no es solución, ya lo uso con muestras de
_miles_ de mails tanto buenos como de spam pero
incluso así se cuelan mensaje) ¿qué solución me
recomiendas?

1. En el servidor de mi proveedor necesito el
catch-all.
2. No puedo eliminar unas determinadas direcciones.
3. Como soy usuaria tampoco puedo eliminar ciertos
destinatarios a nivel servidor Debian.

De todas maneras, insisto, lo que proponía hacer no
es muy ortodoxo pero al fin y al cabo es lo mismo que
haría cualquier MTA: redirigir a otra dirección (en
este caso falsa).

Lo que pasa es que en vez de hacerlo a nivel MTA (que
no puedo, no administro) lo haría con un procmail +
formail.

Cuando alguien me escribe a [EMAIL PROTECTED] mi
proveedor lo recibe y me lo redirige a [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Si yo aquí tuviera otro MTA lo redirigiría a donde
me diera la gana. Como no puedo hacerlo a nivel MTA lo
hago de la manera que puedo. Pero es exactamente lo
mismo que hace mi proveedor conviertiendo
[EMAIL PROTECTED] en [EMAIL PROTECTED] Lo diferencia es que
yo quiero reconvertirlo a [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Tal y como lo veo es lo mismo pero de manera
diferente.

¿Me equivoco?

Yo simplemente quiero una solución que no pase por
recibir esos mensaje. Si el buzón no existiera (cosa
que no puedo conseguir por la configuración de mi
proveedor) no los recibiría, quiero no recibirlos.

instalação por clonagem de HD

Coleguinhas;

Tenho uma tarefa a cumprir, que é instalar 200 máquinas iguaizinhas. O
método que conheço é instalar uma máquina doadora e fazer o clone do
disco usando o dd. Mas como são muitas máquinas, gostaria de saber se
o dd pode ser feito para mais de um HD simultaneamente. O que eu
imaginei, para andar mais rápido, é bootar a máquina doadora por
disquete usando uma minidistro, com o hd doador plugado em hda, e tres
outros hds plugados em hdb, hdc e hdd, e fazer dd if=/dev/hda
of=/dev/hdb no console 1, ir para o console2 com alt+F2 e fazer dd
if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdc e assim por diante, de forma qu eu faria 3 hds
de uma vez ao invés de um por vez. Será que isso dá certo?
Antes que venha um e mande eu testar, resolvi perguntar aqui antes
para não correr risco de danificar os discos ;)
Ou então, alguém conhece outra forma e fazer esta instalação por
clonagem de multiplas máquinas, talvez usando rede, nfs, etc ...

Obrigado pela ajuda. Eu assinei o terra porque estavam com uma baita
promoção, mas vou ter de ver como fazer com SMTP, pois uso o notebook
em muitas conexões, o que dificulta muito porque dependendo de onde
estou conectada não consigo fazer relay em outro smtpserver.

Vou ver outra alterantiva e posto aqui :(

postfix autenticando no terra

Olas;

Mudei de exim para postfix em meu laptop, que uso em conexões
diversas. Mas estou com dificuldades de enviar e-mails usando outro
remetente no campo From. Se mando um e-mail qualquer para outro
destino usando meu [EMAIL PROTECTED] no campo from, vai certo, mas
se uso no campo from outro e-mail, como este [EMAIL PROTECTED] dá
erro:

Os tutoriais que encontrei pesquisando no google abordam justamente
como fazer para conseguir este bloqueio no postfix, mas não como
liberar! Ou será que isso é uma exigência do terra, de só aceitar
e-mails que contenha o proprio endereço do terra no campo from???

Como usar o postfix autenticado no terra usando outrso endereços no
campo from??? Tenho o evolution com muitas contas, e uso uma para cada

Existem duas formas de fazer isso:

1) Xnest -query localhost :1

Isso irá abrir um X dentro do outro, daí é só capturar usando o ksnapshot
Aliás, essa é demias!!!

2) Edite o arquivo /etc/kde3/kdm/Xsetup, e lá nas últimas linhas vc
deixa assim

/usr/bin/krootimage /etc/kde3/kdm/backgroundrc 
(sleep 10s; xwd -root  /home/seu_user/kdmlogin.xwd)
exit 0

...Acrescenta uma chamada ao xwd com um sleep antes e deixa rolando no
background...

Esperto, não é? :)

Instalacion de la version Stable de Debian Sarge

Hola a todos, disculpen la molestia pero tengo el siguiente problema
estoy instalando en un servidor la distribucion de linux:
Debian Sarge 3.1 Stable.
Y resulta que me baje de la pagina
http://www.es.debian.org/releases/sarge/debian-installer/, la imagen
imagen del CD para instalación en red (100 Mb) de i386, al instalarlo
sucede que no entro a la consola grafica revise el archivo
/erc/inittab y modifique por defecto que entre en runlevel 5.
Resultados:
Nada aun sigo con el runlevel 2.

Me podrian por favor y disculpen la molestia indicar si tengo que
utilizar otra imagen de Debian Sarge 3.1 Stable y que puedo hacer para
trabajar con la interfaz grafica.

Tambien debo modificar el /etc/apt/sources.list a direcciones estables.

Testing a una estable de Debian Sarge 3.1, podre solamente instalar el
Kernel de la verion estable o tendre que preferiblemente instalar de
nuevo Debian Sarge 3.1 en el servidor?

Gracias, por el consejo se los agradezco porque yo tengo el Servidor
con Debian Sarge 3.1 testing y hasta los momento funciona bien, lo que
sucede e que estamos trabajando con una duplicación también en
Software Libre y me recomendaron que era mejor instalar en el servidor
la versión estable.

 Si es así mi consejo sería que no lo hicieses y que te quedes con el que
 tengas, ya que los kernels suelen estar muy probados y una versión más nueva
 suele ser mejor sin casi riesgo alguno.
 
 Si lo que quieres es pasar de testing a estable (Sarge) entonces estariamos
 hablando de volver a versiones anteriores en casi todos los paquetes (no sólo
 el kernel), lo cual no es sencillo.
 
 Salvo que tengas algún problema GRAVE y PROBADO con algún paquete en su
 versión testing, yo lo único que te recomendaría que hicieses es modificar
 los sources.list para que apunten a stable (sarge). Si quieres instalar algún
 paquete concreto o unos cuantos desde su versión estable simplemente
 elimínalos primeros, haz un apt-get update e instalalos de nuevo, con lo
 que te instalaría la versión de testing. Esto con cuidado y sin abusar, ya
 que en algunos casos te podrían surgir problemas de dependencias que te
 obligarían a eliminar y volver a instalar otros paquetes para que no haya
 conflictos.
 
 Pero si no tienes ningún problema ahora mismo, simplemente no actualices y
 punto, ya tienes algo estable y que funciona (no es Sarge pero qué más da).

No recuerdo el password de root

Hola todos, yo estoy trabajando con un servidor bajo Debian Sarge en
el tengo usuarios normales y el usuario root, por razones en la
institución he tenido que cambiar varias veces el password de root.
Realizando pruebas en el Servidor con otros usuarios, pero ayer cuando
tuve que instalar de nuevo una version de la aplicacion no pude porque
no recuerdo cual fue el ultimo password de root.
Entonces me dijeron que con un cd live de cualquier distribución
entrara en la consola texto, yo reinicie con la opción desde del
CD-ROM con la Distribución de Ubuntu y llego hasta la linea siguiente:
boot:
Despues no se como indicarle para que me lleve a la consola de texto,
porque cuando le doy entre comienza a instalar y yo lo que quiero es
entrar en modo de texto.

Hallo,
hat jemand von euch einen newsgroup account für die Debian Liste 
eingerichtet, würde nämlich lieber über news meine debian liste beziehen 
als über mails. Das dauert mir zu lange und zieht zuviel speicherplatz.
Benutzen tue ich den Thunderbird als Mailclient.

Habe mich auch schon bei news.gmane.org angemeldet und die newsgroup 
gmane.linux.debian.user.german subscribed.

Leider kann ich hierrüber nicht antworten, bzw. ich habs nicht hingekriegt.
Hat Jemand einen Rat?

¿Tienes el hotplug instalado? o por el contrario lo montas tu de forma manual

Me parece que el hotplug no monta pendrive automaticamente, que tenga una 
particion FAT16 ;-)

Si lo tienes que montar manualmente, como root prueba

mount /dev/sda directorio_montaje

Una vez que sepas que funciona mete la entrada en el fstab para que los 
usuarios puedan montar el dispositivo y no solo el root.

umlaute fehlen in der console

Hallo,
Habe debian sarge mit kde 3.3.2 .
Will in der console iso88591 in deutsch(de_DE) haben, da der mc halt nur 
damit klar kommt.
Und grafisch(X) wollte ich UTF8 haben wegen Windows Freigaben.
Auf meiner X Oberfläche habe ich de_DE.UTF8 aktiviert, und in der 
console wollte ich nur
de_DE also sprich iso88591 aktivieren was auch geht nur das er mir dann 
wenn ich umlaute in die console eingebe er versucht irgendwelche Befehle 
auszuführen, z.b. beim eingeben vom ü -- Bild aufwärts(letzten Befehl 
anzeigen).
Auch sieht der mc merkwürdig aus obwohl ich in einer Konsole den Befehl 
export LANG=de_DE
eingegeben habe.
Hat jemand eine Idee?

Da Dein Problem aber schon beim Eingeben liegt, solltest Du mal einen
Blick auf /etc/inputrc werfen. Dort speziell die Zeile mit 'set
convert-meta'.

Hat auch was bewirkt, nur das die console dann ein merkwürdiges 
verhalten hat, wenn ich
set convert-meta off
setze.
dann macht er für jeden umlaut den ich eingetippt habe wenn ich mit 
backslash lösche  2 statt nur ein zeichen weg.
Also ich kann dann 2 zeichen löschen, so das ich mein prompt zeichen 
überbügel.

Ich glaube ich kann auch auf das schreiben von umlauten in der console 
verzichten. Aber lesen sollte ich sie zumindest können, und das geht 
noch nicht.
Egal welche LANG ich setze.
Ich mache z.b.
export LANG=de_DE
und rufe dann irgendeine Manual auf:
man cdrecord

Anzeigen tut er mir das in deutsch aber mit kästchen statt umlauten.
Was muss ich noch tun?

raid5 wiederherstellen

Aber dabei muss ich auch mein raid5 übernehmen.
Nun die Frage wie kann ich mein altes raid5 übernehmen?
Die raidtab und die fstab datei habe ich gesichert.
Suse gibts nicht mehr.
Wie kann ich also das raid verbund wiederherstellen, ohne dabei
neu formatieren zu müssen?

Habe es gelöst.
Habe es erstmal read-only gemountet, allerdings störte ihn die option acl
in meiner fstab datei deshalb hatte er es zuvor nicht gemountet.
Kann sein acl nicht aktiv ist in dem Kernel?
Werde es mir nochmal angucken.

Ich habe mir das mit dem Netbios ber TCP Protokoll zu Herzen genommen.
Ich habe also bei beiden debian Rechnern
wins proxy (deaktiviert)
dns proxy (deaktiviert)
wins support (deaktiviert)
wins server (deaktiviert)

Ein Rechner im Lan spielt jetzt immer Master Browser und ein anderer
Rechner Backup Browser.(unabhngig vom OS)
Da alle die IP-adresse des Master browsers haben, knnen dort auch alle
reingucken ber 
Netzwerkumgebung - Workgrgroup - Rechner

Wie gesagt alle haben die IP Adresse des Master Browsers, nicht aber
von den anderen clients der Workgroup.
Dies ist auch der Fall wenn ich versuche von einem WinXP Client in
einen anderen WinXp client reinzugucken, whrend keiner von beiden
Master-browser ist, sondern ein debian Rechner Masterbrowser ist.

Man kann sehen das ich 3 Namensanfragen zu feld-nat verschickt habe,
darauf bekomme ich keine Antwort
von feld-nat, ich habe noch c.a. 30 sek gewartet.
Da diese Anfragen an den Port 137 gehen, habe ich auf feld-nat mir die
Ports nochmal angeguckt:

In der vorletzten Zeile steht noch was mit einem Port 137, aber es wird
dort nicht gelauscht.
Gibt es diesen lasuchenden Port nur bei Linux?

Ich habe mir das mit dem Netbios über TCP Protokoll zu Herzen genommen.
Ich habe also bei beiden debian Rechnern
wins proxy (deaktiviert)
dns proxy (deaktiviert)
wins support (deaktiviert)
wins server (deaktiviert)
Ein Rechner im Lan spielt jetzt immer Master Browser und ein anderer
Rechner Backup Browser.(unabhängig vom OS)
Da alle die IP-adresse des Master browsers haben, können dort auch alle
reingucken über
Netzwerkumgebung - Workgrgroup - Rechner
Wie gesagt alle haben die IP Adresse des Master Browsers, nicht aber von
den anderen clients der Workgroup.
Dies ist auch der Fall wenn ich versuche von einem WinXP Client in einen
anderen WinXp client reinzugucken, während keiner von beiden
Master-browser ist, sondern ein debian Rechner Masterbrowser ist.
Wenn ich also von dem debian Rechner(feld-bert) den WinXP
Rechner(feld-nat) anpinge,
ping feld-bert
bekomme ich mit ethereal folgendes:

Ausserdem kannst Du bei Laufwerk verbinden im Explorer einen 
benutzernamen und password mitgeben.
Ich würde auch den debug level höher stellen und in die smbd.log schauen 
als was jemand versucht sich
anzumelden.
Ich habe in deiner smb Konfig gesehen das du in der global section den 
guest ok = no eingestellt hast.
Hast du die smb config per Hand editiert(MC, Vi oder so)?
In meiner global section wird guest ok gar nicht angeboten, soll 
heissen das hier einige Parameter zu viel sein
können.
Dies könnte auch Probleme bereiten.
Was springt denn für eine Meldung rauss wenn du versuchst über die 
Netzwerkumgebung(Explorer)
auf den Samba Server zuzugreifen, und zwar mit einem Benutzer der auf 
deinem samba server schon angelegt ist?
Logst du dich denn mit einem gültigen account an?

MIch hab nochmal ein bischen im I-net geguckt, und zwar habe ich das 
hier gefunden.

Im Abschnitt /etc/nsswitch dort steht wie samba kompiliert sein muss um 
einen Windows Rechner
anpingen zu können, ich denke das gilt auch für andere Nicht-Windows 
Betriebsysteme, ist aber nicht meine
Frage.
Ich habe samba 3.0.10-debian , also schon eine ziemlich neue Version, 
aber die Datei *libnss_wins.so* konnte ich
auf meinem System nicht finden.

Weiss Jemand mehr darüber?
Dies ist eine Möglichkeit ohne DNS Server Rechner Namen auflösen zu 
können mittels netbios, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe.

Nur warum ist in so einem neuen samba nicht diese Möglichkeit vorhanden, 
oder täusche ich mich?
Ich möchte ungerne samba kompilieren.

Erstmal danke für deine Antwort, das wars was ich schon seit langem 
gesucht habe, und hoffe das dies
eine Hilfe ist.
Dies ist in meinen Augen der richtige Weg für die meisten ihr kleines 
Netz zu Hause zu konfigurieren.
Ohne einen DNS Server auf die Beine stellen zu müssen.

Nun zu einem weiteren Problem. Ich habe es eingerichtet und er löst auch 
Netbios Namen auf, aber nur wenn ich
einen anderen Linux Rechner anpinge, Workstations mit WindowsXP pro und 
Home Edition rücken ihre IP nicht raus, obwohl
sie in meiner Workgroup erscheinen, aber halt nur mit ihrem Netbios 
Namen ohne der IP dahinter.

Weiss Jemand was für Dienste laufen müssen auf den Windows Rechnern 
damit diese ihre IP ausgeben.
Oder kann das anders gelöst werden?
