I used to use a utility that would extract imail user names and decrypt
passwords from the registry, but I seem to have misplaced it somewhere on
some machine, and I don't even remember the name of it.
If someone could jog my memory, I'd appreciate it.

Well, we finally bit the bullet and switched to SmarterMail. Everything seems to be working great and my customers love the new interface. However, they are missing the auto whitelisting of their address books. Is this feature an IMail only feature? Is there any way to duplicate this functionality
Evans,
The feature should be available in SM. If
you have in your global.cfg
AUTOWHITELIST ON
This will allow any address in your
address book to be whitelisted.

Related to that, is there any way to whitelist emails from senders who have
been unmarked as spam in SmarterMail?
I looked around for an answer to this question about a year ago when we
first switched to SmarterMail and couldn't find anything. While

Do you think it is possible that this is connected to the rash of broken
spamware that started yesterday (Apache error message from spam
zombies)? I have gotten probably 5,000 of those in the last 24 hours.
All I can say is that it's about time. Maybe the FBI should spend some
time on the
good link. I saw the apache errors as well - but only 168 total.

Are you sure about that? Since midnight we have received 1,233 of
them. Yesterday was even worse.

As sure as I can be -

Today we have received 276.

I hadn't made that connection.
I saw very few of those, but maybe a more dedicated search will turn up
more.
When I saw those broken Apache messages, I assumed it was a hack whereby
webservers were hijacked as spam servers and the hack was broken, and
thought it an isolated incident.

I didn't even think this was possible. Does anyone know of a command line
utility that does this?

Andrew,
What is actually happening is the spamware is configured to get its
message from a script that runs on a remote Apache server, probably
like a screen scrape. Clearly they don't have good redundancy :) I
would imagine that this is an owned server sitting somewhere instead of

I'd like to ask what programs people are using to
check up on held messages in the Imail spool.
I'm using Imail Spool Viewer and I'm curious if
there are other programs out there.
I capture to an IMail account and view it with Webmail. I also wrote a
nifty utility that adds a "Reprocess" link when appropriate that hands
information off to a Web server script that allows me to reprocess held
messages with a single click (and have them delivered to a special

an app that sends each user an email with their held massages. I am getting

But we
do not review the held messages we let each individual user review their own
I can adapt IPB code to work on a command line if there is enough interest.
