Hi All,
What virus scanner can run as a DLL and has command line
interface and can be used with Declude Virus?
I think that it can be more powerful than the
email_received - init_antivirus_engine -
- scan_email - shutdown_antivirus_engine - send_email
method. The init and shutdown phase can be
Would it be possible to make it so multiple files could be selected
using Ctrl or Shift instead of having to select them individually?
This would save some time if I wanted to look at an entire month's
worth of log files. Just a suggestion, other than that, it's a great
tool!

I understand the concern for the setup saying it is replacing files.
The question is how well do you trust Microsoft. :) This part of the
Microsoft's set-up routine getting all related files current for the release
of VB this was compiled under and is not part of the VB program itself. The

hello out there,
on http://www.f-prot.com/f-prot/ you should buy the "F-Prot Antivirus for
Windows
The licensed package includes F-Prot Antivirus for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP,
and F-Prot Antivirus for DOS"
it's 2$ per Computer, and you must buy at least 20 licenses.

Where can I get the DOS virus scanner to use with Declude Virus? I just
purchased this and need to get the scanner now. From what I recall it was
like $20 or something like that.
Thanks!

Yes, it will work with any file extension. Just add:
BANEXT PIF
BANEXT SCR
to your \IMail\Declude\virus.cfg file, and Declude Virus will quarantine
all E-mail with .PIF and .SCR extensions. Note that it wil
Scott,
Will this also work with .scr files?
Is that the exact syntax?
For some reason, my firewall isn't stripping these extensions the way it
is supposed to. A PIF just got past everything, and was caught with the
local client desktop antivirus software (luckily) Of course, it

Thanks for sharing Stu.
A few questions. Who programmed this? If you did, would you consider GPL
or releasing it as open source?
Is there documentation and/or a license?
Are there command-line switches?
Please don't be offended by my inquiry. If this is something that you wrote

I agree. My original purchase of Imail was just so I could set up a
more or less reliable mail server for my virtual domains cheaply,
quickly and easily and then maintain it with relatively little effort
and expense. It has fit that bill wonderfully and Scott's declude has
enhanced it far more t

Let's hope not for Scott's sake...
The only thing we really need on our Imail now is a third party
spell checker. The Imail forum has not helped me here at all.
I can see Ipswitch in a major software rewrite of Imail eliminating the
ability for a hook which would effectively eliminate declude. I think
the code probably does need a major rewrite because of the ongoing
process issues. However, that is likely a pretty significant investment
and I suspect i

It's interesting that they use the word "reliable" to describe a new
product, especially when that product involves decoding MIME segments, and
Ipswitch doesn't exactly have the best history of decoding MIME segments
Not only that but who wants to beta test the @#$# thing for them right now:)
Scott's is proven and it works without hardly any server overhead or
glitches that can tell. No, even if it were cheap I would not be in the
first round of customer releases.:)

Yes, but it's too early to say how it will affect Declude. I don't see it
affecting Declude in a negative way. Usually, extra competition benefits
the customers.

Will Declude be affected by the new release of I-Mail's Anti-Virus software?
I've been very happy with Declude and have no desire to switch. I'm a
little worried though that now that I-Mail has their own anti-virus add on
they will cease their partnership with Declude and modify their program in
