How do I get the query object's data to auto refresh when one of the other
processes changes or deletes a record, or alternatively how can I get
notification of that event? Is there a property on the ADO Query object that I
can set that will do this?

We're OK out here south of Lincoln. Some additional house and property damage
and more clean-up work to do. Power restored on Wednesday but since we're
rural we have our own water well and sewage system which are still functional.
Spare room here if required.

One of the good points is that you can have either blocking or non-blocking
sockets as required but the major plus is that it is fully event driven, i.e.
there's a data received event etc.

I'd like to use Delphi 7 (Delphi 2007 second
choice) with SQL Server 2005. Initially this will be just for development
applications in Mickeysoft .NET but whenever we get
a database application, or a smaller scale app, then using Delphi is still the
only sensible answer in our experience (in terms of productivity).

Agreed on the missing Glyphs for TTable and TQuery - what's the fix for that?
Also, the latest 2007 updates still don't implement the fix for the missing
property editors . New installs shouldn't have to go through the rigmarole to
fix it!
