it helps if you play a video/movie using vlc or mplayer from share. the file

Yes, it's completely reproducible I have 4 Ubuntu computers (2 workstations , 2
laptops, at home+work) - all have this problem.
I would say chances are that 80% of boots result in bad looking icon, and even
if it's ok, it can go bad after a while.
32bit Jungledisk: (I don't use 64bit)

just grabbed the top panel (ALT+LeftMouseDown) - then dragged it to right
monitor, then back.
Look at the attached image now... strange stuff :)
Switching viewports does not seem to mess up the icons, maybe it's only things
