Do you mean: NVidia does not deliver open source drivers for my MD96630
notebook, so one can't work with Ubuntu/Linux etc. ? And is it the same
story for the rest of the total hardware in this machine? Soundcard
which don't work? Wlan which don't work? Tuning impossible for i.e LCD

be very impressed of my opinion about their protectionism!

VGA controler: Geforce 9300M G NVidia Corporation.
Driver in use: NVidia accelerated driver (version 177) installed by Ubuntu
8.10

Saving
as you shut down Linux and reboot it, the changes you made in the
preference tab are gone so that you have to make these changes again and
again and again after each reboot, and that is not realy nice.
