the de.po file is supposed to be shipped by language-pack-gnome-de, and
so I don't understand why it was not shipped in the latest update.

Gdm displays the cholocate background even if a user selects a different

I tried to reproduce that with ~4800 emails in dapper 2.6.1 but it worked as
expected. What version do you use and how many emails do you have in that
folder?

I installed from dapper flight 6 today, my setup is as follows:
hda1 - old install
hda3 - new install (flight 6)
now a /media/hda1 mountpoint was
I also think that a more visible feedback would be better. You barely notice
the difference between the username and password entry, only when you know what
to look for or pay a little attention. I suspect most people don't do that.
