Okay. I've just updated. I have GDM 2.4.2.102 . There's no difference: - Note that the users list selection still works fine, ie the settings are remembered. The only problem is that they are not reflected perfectly in the drop-down boxes under the Security tab. In particular, it appears that

Thanks. That helps. I can now auto-login. I still think there are problems with the UI which make it confusing, at least: - There is a blank option in the users list - When the entry given for auto-login user is rejected / not saved, there is no error message. Just not working / ignoring input
