Re: [Bug 146918] Re: Poor descriptions for some applications in Startup Programs window
I think that as long as it's included and used in Ubuntu, we should fix it. It's a completely trivial fix anyway. Immediately perfect and improve the things you can, work carefully and thoughtfully on the things you can't. [Bug 394095] [NEW] Renaming music directory causes loss of metadata
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I am reporting this here because GNOME's bugzilla is broken - searching for 'directory' returns a blank page. When you rename a directory in the Music library while RhythmBox is open, it thinks that the files are completely new. This causes all the tracks to lose their ratings, metadata, etc. The old tracks are still seen but are now unplayable, and when Rhythmbox restarts it then removes the old tracks as being unavailable. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open rhythmbox with at least one directory of music files in the Library directory. 2) Rename that directory. What should happen: 3) Nothing changes - the tracks remain the same, their metadata is preserved, and the paths to them are corrected in Rhythmbox's library. What does happen: 3) The new directory is detected and the files are scanned, creating new music tracks in the directory. 4) The existing tracks are still present but unplayable. 5) When Rhythmbox is restarted, the existing tracks and their metadata is removed. Package and OS info: This is present in Rhythmbox 0.11.6. I use Fedora 10, but the bug is present in versions of Ubuntu that ship with this version of Rhythmbox - e.g. 8.04 I have logged this bug here because it is not possible to search the GNOME bugzilla for this bug. I am applying for an account with their bugzilla in the hope that I can log this problem there as well. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Renaming music directory causes loss of metadata https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/394095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 135548] Re: [Gutsy] Action on critical battery isn't triggered - regression
@DervishD: discharge-time-profile tells you the amount of time your laptop spends with a specific battery percentage during a single discharge. For example, in your image, your laptop would quickly discharge from 100 to 90 percent, then slow down from 90-10, then quickly accelerate from 10-0. Could you test this with a Karmic LiveCD? Sometimes, when upgrading or changing batteries, GPM doesn't keep track of the batteries properly. Upstream claims that this particular bug has been fixed. Could someone test a clean Karmic system (or LiveCD) to see if your computer will shut down when the battery is critical? ** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- [Gutsy] Action on critical battery isn't triggered - regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135548 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 394024] [NEW] gweather-applet-2 stops updating
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets gweather-applet-2 becomes unable to update (automatically or manually) after a random, usually long period of normal behavior. Switching to a different city (and then immediately back to my own) under the Location tab in Weather Preferences makes the applet snap out of it, so to speak; the forecast and current conditions are updated instantly, and automatic updates proceed normally. Considering the fiddly nature of my workaround, I'm hoping there's an easy way to correct this minor bug. It's got to be one of the most commonly used applets, and it's always been my favorite. [Bug 376145] Re: gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed with SIGSEGV in gdu_pool_get_presentables()
I can confirm this too on Karmic. Curiously HALd also refuses to start. The error message telling gvfs-gdu-volume crashed comes very soon after logging in, together with an error message about bzr-notify crashing, as reported in bug #391158. Running 'sudo hald --verbose=yes' gives no error messages, neither does running 'sudo /etc/init.d/hal start', even though its status is not running. Running '/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor' doesn't give you the next emtpy line in the console, but doesn't output anything at all. Both hal and gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor don't show up at all when you try to run them manually. The only remaining process with hal in it was gvfs-hal-volume(something?). -- gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed with SIGSEGV in gdu_pool_get_presentables() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376145 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 377426] Re: gvfs-gdu-volume segfault in libgdu.so.0.0.0
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 376145 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376145 I can confirm this too on Karmic.
