Sergio. I've just run the command a second time and the output was as
shown in #9 above. This time no Firefox window was launched. There's
something else not right here if you haven't received the info. I've
rebooted a couple of times since my last attempt at the command (my
default OS in 9.04).
Since I posted this morning I have set all my screensaver and power settings to
'never', which did stop the problem then I went to ~/gconf.d and deleted the
contents and rebooted.
The problem has not occurred now for 5 hours so perhaps is fixed (let's see)
but I have no idea what the cause was.

To me it happens when I drag and drop a file into a folder, then I cannot see
the whole content of the folder. Sometimes I see nothing, sometimes only a part
of the content. It can happen when I drag and drop only one photo or something.
It looks like it is constantly trying to load.

i tested the fix on jaunty 9.04 by enabling jaunty-proposed in the
software sources. there were 28 updates available but i only updated

After wakeup from sleep, gnome-power-manager does not detect it is running on
battery

This is reproducible, for me at least, although not reliably.
At some point while using my computer, I notice a slowdown, and discover
that gnome-settings-daemon is eating CPU. Nothing in particular that I
do seems to trigger it.

drx: A workaround for that is to set Compiz's Scale to activate on the
screen corner. It's not as nice as using the key combo, but it's
something at least :) . Since it works with screen corners, though, I
think the problem may be relate to GTK grabbing all keyboard events when

It doesn't work fine neither in 0.12.5 on Karmic, most of the covers are not
found even if tags (title/artist/album) are correclty filled, it takes just a
few seconds to find those covers on the net.
Lyrics are found but for several songs just enabling lyricwiki.org a very short
excerpt is
same here for me. worked perfectly fine till I upgraded to 9.10. now there is
only a percentage of the remaining battery life, but no predicted time... i
really liked this feature. Why is it gone?
btw: i'm using a lenovo 3000 n200 if that's any help...

[Karmic] Battery monitor applet
I run both GNOME and Xfce and I manually renamed each terminal in the
Accessories menu to GNOME Terminal and Xfce Terminal respectively.
After all this is what they are and there is no reason why one or
another should prevail and remain just a Terminal. Labels of both

I'm getting the same problem. Brasero works fine when I import an
existing multisession disc, but when I try to create a new disc, it
hangs on that dialog box as described above.

CORRECTION: Brasero worked fine from the day that Karmic was released
until yesterday (2009-11-16, Melbourne time); today it is failing with
the above bug on ALL burns. I do a daily update through the Update
Manager.
(Previous to Karmic I used k3b because I couldn't figure out how to get
Brasero

Ubuntu 9.10 - Menu Item Report a Problem Under System Tools NO Work

Given that now in Karmic we have Network Manager instead of network-admin, can
you confirm that this bug doesn't apply anymore and close it?
