[Bug 521394] [NEW] After resume from suspend with encrypted USB drive connected, cannot reattach device

2010-02-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: cryptsetup

I connect my USB Drive with encrypted content (using cryptsetup). After
suspending and resuming, a window appears asking for the password, which I
reenter. Following correct entry of the password, a message box appears with
the following message: Unable to mount 250 GB Encrypted Error unlocking
device: cryptsetup exited with exit code 239: Command failed: Device already
exists
Sure enough, nautilus has two entries: one from before the suspend action which
is no longer labeled as encrypted, and, oddly, is now mounted as read-only. The
file are accessible through this entry. The other quasi duplicate entry is
labeled as encrypted but cannot be mounted (see error msg above).

This still is a problem on Karmic. A default installation, with a

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help debug this.

[Bug 327872] Re: Broken support for AVCHD (MTS/M2TS)

2010-02-18 Thread Jean-François Fortin Tam
The title and description of this bug is, from what I can tell, wrong.
AVCHD is *not* MPEG-2 TS, and certainly not HDV. Take a look at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVCHD ; it's all H.264 AVC there.

Thus the current bug report should be about MPEG-2 Transport Stream
camcorders, because actual *AVCHD* camcorders (at least mine, which does
H.264 in a .mov container) do not cause any problems and work fine with
PiTiVi.

[Bug 523796] [NEW] Startup list does not save changes randomly

2010-02-18 Thread 836v
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Hi,
gnome-session-properties sometimes fails saving changes in the Startup list.

As example, when adding a new launcher it does not save changes, or the
added application then fails to start with Ubuntu.

One has to try twice, three or more times or has to re-edit the new
launcher (even with the same info or parameters) for finally getting it
to go the correct way the next login.

Or, then, if one unchecks the box for some application not starting
automatically when Ubuntu does... it does not save the change and the
next time one opens the Startup list the box of such application
continues checked.

[Bug 251542] Re: Erreur d'intitulé dans la section Emplacement de l'horloge

[Bug 482680] Re: System Monitor won't close through normal methods, I have to kill the process.

2010-02-18 Thread Captain Chaos
Happening to me too. It seems to be happening since the latest update
round, although gnome-system-monitor wasn't updated then. The version of
gnome-system-monitor I have installed is 2.28.0-0ubuntu1.

On my system too it does not happen all the time. The first time I tried
running it with strace it did work, for instance. But it happens more
often than not.

Since the application is not crashing I don't think backtraces are
applicable. I have attached an strace log. I captured it with the
following command line:

strace -Ff -tt gnome-system-monitor 2 strace-gnome-system-monitor.log

I then clicked once on the close button in the title bar (which did
nothing), and then ended the program by pressing Ctrl+C on the console.

[Bug 393102] Re: Ubuntu9.04 Nautilus Crash moving files through Network

2010-02-18 Thread Chris Coulson
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 497858] Re: Support application indicators

2010-02-18 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
As part of this project I have been reviewing programs that currently
use the notification area, and providing recommendations on what they
should do.

My recommendation for gnome-disk-utility is that it shouldn’t be in the
panel at all. Failing disks should be shown using periodic alerts
(period depending on the severity of the problem). There should be no
notification area item.

[Bug 425405] Re: Low disk space notification is a little useless

2010-02-18 Thread 2hot6ft2
I received a popup saying I had only 1.3GB free space on my disk when in fact I
had almost 30GB of free space.
How can this be?
Does the file system actually have a limit as to how many files it can contain
or how many bytes/Mbytes/Gbytes it can have in it?
If this is the case then I consider this a major bug.
Looks like I can only post 1 attachment so I will follow this with the Disk

[Bug 369359] Re: Resuming from hibernate does not initiate authorisation process

Could you please do the following:

$ gconftool-2 --dump /apps/gnome-screensaver /apps/gnome-power-manager

Also, could you try killing gnome-power-manager once more and starting

Once that's running in a terminal, try hibernating and resuming and
attach the generated log file to this bug.

[Bug 498183] Re: Rhythmbox menu does not recognize the player state

2010-02-18 Thread Sense Hofstede
Vish: the application specifically notifies Indicator Application when
its icon should be changed. It can either change its status to
ATTENTION, which changes its icon to attention_icon, or it could change
the icon with the set_icon() function.

Banshee itself changes the label and the icon of the PlayPause entry
according to its status. I think Rhythmbox should do it self as well.

[Bug 425405] Re: Low disk space notification is a little useless

2010-02-18 Thread Chris Coulson
This isn't really the appropriate place to ask for support, and g-s-d
probably isn't doing anything wrong in your case. It calculates the free
space remaining after calling statvfs on the particular volume, so you
probably really are running low on disk space. Please post the output of
df -h so I can tell.

And yes, filesystems do have limitations on how many files / folders can
be stored, and how large the partition size can be etc. Those aren't
bugs though, but rather limitations of the file system structure (eg,
FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB and maximum partition size of 2TB).
That's not your issue though

@Draycen - dpkg --get-selections | grep -v deinstall  ubuntu-files
gives me the following list that I've added as an attachment - does this
give you what you need?

For info, since setting up these machines and getting this bug, I have
added some extra software packages from 3rd-party repos and PPAs -
including Lotus Symphony 3.0 Beta, and GIMP 2.7.1 (unstable). So if you
do some testing and try to set up a machine to reproduce this bug, there
is no need to install these packages as I know they are not the cause of
the problem.

[Bug 510318] Re: Ubuntu - Linux for Human Beings! (About Ubuntu) page contains encoding error

2010-02-18 Thread eris23
on my fully updated lucid I found:

ls -l /usr/share/gnome/help/about-ubuntu/sv/about-ubuntu.xml
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 63 2010-01-14 17:33
/usr/share/gnome/help/about-ubuntu/sv/about-ubuntu.xml -
/usr/share/gnome/help-langpack/about-ubuntu/sv/about-ubuntu.xml

but the linked doc and dir don't exist

and

ls /usr/share/gnome/help-langpack/about-ubuntu/
en_AU en_CA en_GB

shouldn't there be an en_US locale directory?
