[Bug 899755] Re: gnome terminal does not save session
Affects me and bothers me. Session saving didn't work for gnome-terminal when using Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) and still doesn't work now with Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon based on Ubuntu Precise (12.04). In Lucid, my workaround was to use KDE's konsole instead. However, temporary kde files are not deleted by default in gnome. They were piling up to several GB in '/home/myusername/.kde/tmp-mycomputername' so I had to write my own script to occasionally delete the older ones. That's why I prefer not to bring KDE into my system again. The inability to save a session in gnome, however, is very inconvenient. gnome-session-properties now only launch the startup applications, but no option to save the sessions. I installed dconf-editor and went to org gnome gnome-sessions and checked auto-save-session. This config is remembered over several sessions. However, the session is not saved - or at least not restored at the next startup. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/899755 Title: gnome terminal does not save session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/899755/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
