[Bug 1061195] Re: Evolution appears unable to create EWS or Exchange MAPI account

2020-10-20 Thread raneq
Hi, ending 2020 and still an issue :/

Using Debian 10, Evolution version 3.30.5-1.1. Trying to connect to
Microsoft Exchange 2007.

I just started Evolution for the 2d time, 1st after trying set up an EWS
account, and all attempts I had done appeared in the account list at
left. Now it just works, thanks!

However, it confused me a lot. Specially no error messages, no logs at
the shell, no nothing. People that isn't "techie and english-speaking",
both at the same time, won't find this bugpage nor the askubuntu site,
I'm afraid.

If the issue can't be solved after 8 years, there must be a reason.
Therefore, why not add a warning at the end of the wizard with "Please
now restart Evolution" ??

Thank for making possible to stay in linux even when working for
microsoft corporate environments.

Actually we (yaru + didier) agreed that this is not wanted by upstream
and not wanted by the ubuntu design team. The branding already present
in the login screen, boot screen and start up experience is enough.

2020-10-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When you selected a dark application theme, the gnome-shell top bar
menus used to also switch to match the theme (ie light text on a dark

Oh, drmtip exists too, I thought you said drmnext which was stuck on

currently just running the 5.9.1 mainline kernel for testing purposes,
which so far (2 days in seems stable), but might just break later today,
who knows.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1872159] Re: Boot animation never finishes when external monitors (or just more than one) are connected

2020-10-20 Thread Tim Wetzel
I noted this new comment:
"I am used to having such problems with Nvidia graphics is involved,
but this is not the case on this laptop. It has been happily running
  18.04."

In my case, I'm seeing this on machines that have been running *LTS
20.04* just fine UNTIL the updates to 20.04.1 started to roll out around
September 12 or so. That's when the problems started. I started seeing
this spinning logo hang in mid-September along with the initramfs errors
on startup.

Shortly after, I started seeing bug 1897185 (and other bug numbers as
well) where the machine(s) go into suspend as soon as the login password
is entered during startup. When I subsequently tried to reinstall
Ubuntu, I encountered 1871268 and could not complete the reinstall.

I have since managed to get around the install with third party drivers
bug; but still encountered the initramfs problem, the spinning logo
splash hangs, and the suspend after login password error... so these
problems are pretty severe.

Just thought you'd like to know that my experience with this problem
occurred on machines that were running LTS 20.04 just fine until Ubuntu
Updates mid-September.

[Bug 1900449] Re: [Intel AX200] No bluetooth found

2020-10-20 Thread Zaris
Sorry, but the problem seem to have disappeared. Now I can see my bluetooth
devices also in gnome-control-center.
I have been trying stuff found from the net like:
sudo rmmod btusb
sleep 1
sudo modprobe btusb

And reboots (with power off) and nothing helped.

But today I rebooted again (after latest updates). Now the bluetooth
setting seems to work. I can switch bt on and off. I can not say exactly
why.

Do you still want information from my system?

This is fresh install of 20.10 beta with default desktop (gnome).

[Bug 1900760] [NEW] gnome-shell very high %CPU usage while moving mouse on Ubuntu 20.04

2020-10-20 Thread Pavils Jurjans
Public bug reported:

After upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04 I discovered that gnome-shell
occasionally starts eating up unreasonably large CPU %. After some head
scratching why on earth i thappens, it was clear that moving my mouse
energetically I can get it as close to 100% as I want.

If this is relevant, the mouse model is Corsair Harpoon wireless BT. I
am reading some speculation that the cause of the problem is high
polling rate for mouse location (?).

It is suggested in this bug entry
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848951) that this issue is fixed on
late march. But this is october and I still experience this problem on
an updated PC.

1. Bugs like this are usually due to extensions. So first please try
disabling any extensions.

2. Please run this command to send us more information about the system:

3. I have actually seen one possible cause for this in recent code
changes, but it would only happen after locking and unlocking the
machine. Is that what you find?.. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-

It doesn't look like a crash. gdm3 pid 4257 has failed an assertion but
that might not be fatal. And systemd seems to think that gdm3 succeeded.
So probably not a crash.

[Bug 1897224] Re: Graphical snaps can't run in Gnome 3.38 Wayland sessions (can't open X display)

2020-10-20 Thread James Henstridge
I had a go at fixing this in
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/1508 -- taking
the patches from that MR and applying them to the Groovy mutter source
package gave me a Wayland session that supported X11 snaps again.

It is probably worth waiting for a review from upstream before going
further. I've done the testing they asked for with the "autostart-
xwayland" feature enabled, so hopefully that will come soon.

It appears the installer was asking a question and perhaps the GUI
failed to display it for you. It got no answer, which is a minor problem
in the update installer and not a bug in gdm3.

Configuration file '/etc/gdm3/custom.conf'

==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : keep your currently-installed version
D : show the differences between the versions
Z : start a shell to examine the situation

[Bug 1892643] Re: [SRU] Update libgweather to 3.36.1

2020-10-20 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Amr, or anyone else affected,

Accepted libgweather into focal-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgweather/3.36.1-1~ubuntu20.04.1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
focal to verification-done-focal. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-focal. In either case, without details of your testing we will
