[Bug 242208] Re: deskbar applet doesn't use default program to open documents
I also can confirm this bug. Nautilus opens all my pdfs in evince. Deskbar-applet + tracker search tool fail to open them (they do nothing). When starting from console, the following message appears: Error showing url: There is no default action associated with this location. POSSIBLE CAUSE: gnome-open gives exactly the same message as above when trying to open a pdf with it. gnome-open binds to gnome-vfs, which is going to be succeeded by gvfs. (gvfs-open works) Apparently, deskbar-applet, tracker search tool, etc still bind to gnome-vfs instead of the new gvfs. Nautilus already binds to gvfs, so when trying to modify the file association (open with...), the change is made for gvfs but not for gnome-vfs apps. Ubuntu 8.04 took Gnome 2.22 in the middle of a major transition (gnome- vfs -- gvfs), which is probably reflected in these bugs. Please provide some method to adjust the file associations for gnome-vfs, too, until the transition is finished! Personally, i have to search many pdfs with tracker for my work, and it is irritating that they don't open in evince because of this bug. -- deskbar applet doesn't use default program to open documents https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242208 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 81961] Re: gnome-power-manager should report a reason when HAL failed to hibernate
There is no way I can reproduce the bug as my current laptop does not fail to hibernate anymore, but if the developers know their code they will know if they fixed or not this bug. If it should just stay that way then close the bug, but this can't be closed just because I don't have any hibernation errors, the bug is related to how errors are handled and can be closed only if developers or upstream agrees on that. In that case I'd beg you to just remove the check for gajim.png from the configure script in a patch. Which would remove the need to build-depend on gajim, but still enable building the plugin. The file is not needed during build time and as the plugin will only load when gajim is running (therefore probably installed), it shouldn't cause problems during runtime (after all debian builds the plugin and doesn't have a dependency on gajim so that should work) -- nautilus-sendto is build without Gajim support https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261166 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 222852] Re: Mystery power button events on resume
I have the same problem, unable to work in Ubuntu. Possibly it was caused after a TAR installation of an ica Client from their download site. In the Czech wiki, this is recommended even if Citrix offers only SuSe and redhat solutions (as Linux). But maybe I've overseen something, because finally it didn't work. The problems arised from the next (?) reboot. No matter. Now I've no idea how to get back into. I've tried to remove user related settings (.gconf, .gconfd, .config, .gnome2), no improvement. I've entered gconftool-2 --set /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/power --type string nothing, no change. Even the gnome-power-manager directory didn't appear. [Bug 261461] [NEW] F-Spot Slideshow unusable
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot Starting a slideshow in F-Spot (only ~100 pictures) does not work correctly. The pictures (2 megapixels) take forever to load (about 30 seconds) and the transitions are extremely slow and nasty. The worst thing is, that the slideshow cannot be quit. When I move the mouse around nothing happens. There should be a little bar where I can quit fullscreen mode and pause the slideshow, but the bar does not appear at all. Instead the screen flickers when I move the mouse and as soon as I click somewhere F-Spot freezes. It is still possible to force F-Spot to quit. [Bug 261499] [NEW] gnome terminal crashes when changing profile
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal Ubuntu 8.04 64bit gnome-terminal 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 Expected to have profile modified but all open windows of gnome-terminal were simultaneously closed upon clicking apply. As mentioned by others, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eject/+bug/91873 may be the same issue. [Bug 261499] Re: gnome terminal crashes when changing profile
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- gnome terminal crashes when changing profile https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261499 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 261461] Re: F-Spot Slideshow unusable
OK, after rebooting again I figured out the following things: 1. Fullscreen slideshow sort of works, still it takes forever (~30 seconds) until the next image is being shown and there is no setting to change that. 2. There is no option to pause the slideshow. There is also no option to skip a picture - neither with the keyboard nor with the mouse. 3. There is no way to change the transition. Between the different images the screen becomes white. 4. And now the worst thing: there is no way to quit the slideshow. Moving the mouse around does not bring up any bar or something (like in plain fullscreen mode). Pressing Esc, q, e and a couple of other keys does not help either. To quit the slideshow I have to Alt+Tab to the F-Spot main window close it and click Force quit. In my opinion the severity of this problem is at least medium, because F-Spot is a pre-installed GNOME application. ** Attachment added: f-spot-debug.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17091564/f-spot-debug.txt -- F-Spot Slideshow unusable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261461 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
