If evolution is running for some time (hours+) its memory usage will
grow beyond what seems reasonable -- i.e. if it runs overnight, it will
reach 2GB. Once physical RAM is full, it will silently exit. I'm not

I installed nautilus-dbg to try to get nautilus to freeze in gdb but in
doing so seem to have fixed my problem. The fix persisted after
uninstalling nautilus-dbg and rebooting.

I upgraded to 8.10 and have found that Audacity, Sound Recorder or even
monitoring the record level with the record level monitor can cause a
crash. I usually only get to about 30secs recording on Audacity and then
it dies.
Oddly enough, if I strace Audacity I do not seem to encounter the
problem.

Same problem for me, after changing the language of the computer from
English to French.
I fixed by moving all contents of my old ~/Desktop folder to the new
~/Bureau, including the hidden file '.directory'. After that I logged
out and logged back in and all was well.

I can confirm the exact behavior described by Svt. I still wonder if
the latest version would fix this. The version I references before were
off a bit. The current Ubuntu version 2.22 and the latest stable from
the Evolution project is 2.24.

fuse-utils version 2.7.2-1ubuntu2 has a debian/fuse.conf that's
identical to my /etc one, i.e. everything commented out, so perhaps
you're right about the survival from an older release.

This particular machine was upgraded from Hardy Heron, which experienced
the described problem at a greater frequency.
