Re: [Bug 195976] Re: gvfsd-computer crashed with SIGSEGV
I am using 8.10 Intrepid. When I connect my HP Photosmart 733 I get "Unable to mount Hewlett-Packard Photosmart 720/ Photosmart 935 (storage) Error initializing camera: -1: Unspecified error" when I click on Hewlett-Packard Photosmart 720/ Photosmart 935 (storage) under "Places". The camera itself shows "Connected to computer" and the read/write LED illuminates as if it was reading the SD card. When I click on OK the LED on the camera shuts off. Attached is a screen grab of the error. The LED flashes a couple of times when I connect the camera in Windows and then I can open the SD card like a Mass Storage Device. [Bug 356767] [NEW] Jaunty: automatic login does not work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm The automatic login currently does not work for me, it keeps sending me to the gdm login. It worked first when I installed jaunty beta, but one of the updates broke it. What happens is that Ubuntu starts up naturally, but then a boot screen appears which says that there were problems starting pulseaudio and then it sends me to the login screen. If I login normally, I can resume without problems, but the bug is still strange. Could it be related to the known pulseaudio problems? [Bug 355370] Re: gnome-screensaver does not respect screensaver selection
Charlie: we can ask for sponsorship, then, if you're happy with the change, as the debdiff does enable it. It seems a bit odd to have both the individual screensavers listed and the preferences tool as a separate option. Also, note that the original reporter did run gnome-screensaver- preferences and always got the blank screensaver. I just did a fresh install using the same live cd and I get the behavior I reported before; no screensavers show up when gnome-screensaver-preferences is run, which is a different behavior from the original reporters, but not any less broken, AFAICS. I also see the same behavior that the original reporter mentioned, that none of the screensaver options under Settings -> Screensavers do anything. I should note that I'm running this within a virtualbox vm, but I am able to get working screensavers from the Ubuntu live cd within virtualbox. Thanks. -- gnome-screensaver does not respect screensaver selection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 356715] [NEW] evolution-data-server crash
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I've been getting random crashes of evolution-data-server, with the usual uninformative warning message, "The Evolution address book/calendar/tasks has quit unexpectedly." I ran evolution-data-server under gdb to try and get a stack trace. This time I don't remember what I was doing when the crash happened (I think I had just switched workspaces to check on a new mail, perhaps not even touched evolution itself). In any case, the evolution-data-server crashed again and here's the stack trace. This time evolution just locked up and did not provide a dialog box or anything. I'm using ubuntu 8.10, evolution 2.24.3-0ubuntu1 ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- evolution-data-server crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/356715 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
