Re: [Bug 195976] Re: gvfsd-computer crashed with SIGSEGV

2009-04-06 Thread Chris Franklin
I am using 8.10 Intrepid.
When I connect my HP Photosmart 733 I get "Unable to mount
Hewlett-Packard Photosmart 720/ Photosmart 935 (storage) Error
initializing camera: -1: Unspecified error" when I click on
Hewlett-Packard Photosmart 720/ Photosmart 935 (storage) under "Places".
The camera itself shows "Connected to computer" and the read/write LED
illuminates as if it was reading the SD card. When I click on OK the LED
on the camera shuts off.

Attached is a screen grab of the error.

The LED flashes a couple of times when I connect the camera in Windows
and then I can open the SD card like a Mass Storage Device.

What do I need to do to provide a stacktrace?

there has been no respond after the request to get a stacktrace on
intrepid or jaunty, on what version did you try, could you describe what
you do exactly and what error you get?

[Bug 316835] Re: brasero location box does not work

2009-04-06 Thread Jan Wagner
Noticed the same bug, Ubuntu 8.10 Brasero 0.8.2.

Hitting enter should either auto-add the file in the Location entry
field to the project, or change the path in the tree view. Right now,
nothing happens. Bad GUI design, please fix.

If this behaviour with no reaction is desired, then please at least
gtk_editable_set_editable() to false.

Then the user is not mislead to enter text into the non-working Location
field.

[Bug 356703] Re: gnome-keyring-daemon does not run at startup

Now, i can reproduce this bug consistently (Most of the time). Please
find the step below to reproduce it.

Problem:

1. Just do suspend
2. Then resume
3. Observer the "top" utility.

[Bug 354928] Re: Rhythmbox crash on create Auto Playlist

I confirm that rhythmbox has this bug. (rhythmbox 0.12.0-0ubuntu2)

Rhythmbox closes unexpectedly, and no crash report is generated (nothing

[Bug 356779] [NEW] MAPI authentication failed

2009-04-06 Thread dkreider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

error message is:
MapiLogonProvider:MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR

Exchange server requires secure connection via SSL,but there is no
option to set SSL

>From looking at other info on web,it appears that this does not occur if
SSL is not required on the server.

Get similar problem using imap on first setup, but I can then go into
preferences set SSL and then it works, but I can't get past the setup
wizzard with MAPI, so can't get to the server preferences for the
exchange server.

The exchange server name, domain name and user name are all correct.

How can I set SSL ?

[Bug 356510] Re: [i965] Jaunty: random screen flashes

2009-04-06 Thread Bernhard
** Also affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

I have random screen flashes in Jaunty beta, where the screen goes black
- for a split second. The bug is sort of the same as the old (and fixed)
- Bug 91404 but it seems to have resurfaced here in Jaunty. My video card
- is GMA X 3000 and my driver is xserver-xorg-video-intel.
+ for a split second. Similar flashes appear when I play around with the
+ brightness applet in the gnome-panel.
+
+ To reproduce:
+ 1) put brightness applet in your panel
+ 2) use mouse to push brightness to the max
+ 3) now keep pulling the button up (even after you reached the max)
+
+ Result: button slides down again. This is funny and it goes along with
+ various uncanny dark flashes of the screen.

[Bug 356767] [NEW] Jaunty: automatic login does not work

2009-04-06 Thread Bernhard
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

The automatic login currently does not work for me, it keeps sending me
to the gdm login. It worked first when I installed jaunty beta, but one
of the updates broke it.

What happens is that Ubuntu starts up naturally, but then a boot screen
appears which says that there were problems starting pulseaudio and then
it sends me to the login screen. If I login normally, I can resume
without problems, but the bug is still strange. Could it be related to
the known pulseaudio problems?

Architecture: i386

I'm still having the same issue in Jaunty. I'm trying to connect to a

following error:

[Bug 352921] Re: Simultaneous SSH attempts cause gnome-keyring to crash: Error reading response length from authentication socket.

2009-04-06 Thread Jamin W. Collins
I can't seem to find all the debugging symbol packages. However, here's
a backtrace that I have been able to capture from the daemon crashing.
To get it crash all I did was:

$ ssh ${HOST1} ls; ssh ${HOST2} ls; ssh ${HOST3} ls

This doesn't always cause it to crash but it has been existing pretty
frequently here. Trying to get a trace with more debugging symbols
installed.

[Bug 337926] Re: vino: mouse cursor stays in upper left corner

2009-04-06 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package xorg-server - 2:1.6.0-0ubuntu11

---
xorg-server (2:1.6.0-0ubuntu11) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Add 175_set_pointer_screen_in_xtestfakeinput.patch: Fixes issue when
using Vino, mouse cursor can get stuck in the upper left corner of the
screen. The POINTER_SCREEN flag must be set explicitly for XTest core
events to avoid
out-of-range events when the lastSlave was an SD with an explicit axis
range.
Device events sent through XTest don't need this flag, they are expected to
be
in the valuator range of the device anyway.

[Bug 355406] Re: gedit crashed with SIGSEGV in g_markup_escape_text()

2009-04-06 Thread John M
At the time of crash, it was an empty Fortran source file (the copy of
another empty file in the same directory). I cannot upload an empty
file, so assuming the name of the original (empty) file is "foo.f90"
(without the quotes), the name of the copy file (i.e., the one that I
was trying to rename from the gedit file browser pane) is "foo

[Bug 355370] Re: gnome-screensaver does not respect screensaver selection

2009-04-06 Thread Steve Beattie
Charlie: we can ask for sponsorship, then, if you're happy with the
change, as the debdiff does enable it. It seems a bit odd to have both
the individual screensavers listed and the preferences tool as a
separate option.

Also, note that the original reporter did run gnome-screensaver-
preferences and always got the blank screensaver. I just did a fresh
install using the same live cd and I get the behavior I reported before;
no screensavers show up when gnome-screensaver-preferences is run, which
is a different behavior from the original reporters, but not any less
broken, AFAICS.

I also see the same behavior that the original reporter mentioned, that
none of the screensaver options under Settings -> Screensavers do
anything. I should note that I'm running this within a virtualbox vm,
but I am able to get working screensavers from the Ubuntu live cd within
virtualbox.

Thanks.

[Bug 356715] [NEW] evolution-data-server crash

2009-04-06 Thread jhaiduce
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I've been getting random crashes of evolution-data-server, with the
usual uninformative warning message, "The Evolution address
book/calendar/tasks has quit unexpectedly." I ran evolution-data-server
under gdb to try and get a stack trace. This time I don't remember what
I was doing when the crash happened (I think I had just switched
workspaces to check on a new mail, perhaps not even touched evolution
itself). In any case, the evolution-data-server crashed again and here's
the stack trace. This time evolution just locked up and did not provide
a dialog box or anything.

I'm using ubuntu 8.10, evolution 2.24.3-0ubuntu1
