Currently it cannot be used for telepathy for #telepathy

currently there's no standard for vp8 rtp payloaders or depayloader,
until there is a standard, it can't very well realistically be used for

[Bug 593003] Re: wishlist: Indicator-applet needs active chatrooms under Chat

2010-06-14 Thread Ketil Wendelbo Aanensen
I'm aware of that. What's your point?

Expanding, how about someting along these lines?
- If all chats are in one tabbed window, X-ing them sends them to messaging
window with the entry Tabbed Chats.
- If the umber of separate chat windows are equal to or less than, say 5, then
have them as separate entries in the messaging menu. If there are more than
that number, give a warning that X-ing them away will disconnect the
conversations.

Hopefully you understand my main point, even though the minor details
would need some adjusting.

[Bug 593538] [NEW] Nautilus does not find file as I type its name

2010-06-14 Thread A.K.Karthikeyan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

OS: Ubuntu 10.04

One good thing about nautilus was if I want to find a file say
about_me.txt , when I type about_me in it a text box opens at bottom
right, shows what I am typing and as soon as I finish my file name
nautilus would have selected the file and I need to press to launch it.

But recently I find this feature missing on my system in which I have
newly installed 10.04. In my other system where I have upgraded from
9.10, this feature works fine. It will be great if someone can fix it.

[Bug 593127] Re: segfault when clicking on tray icon

2010-06-14 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 593578] [NEW] impossibile due sessioni attive...

2010-06-14 Thread LVS
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

relativamente all'orario del crash
- non credo sia un problema di insufficienza hardware poichè con il SO win (ben
più pesante) non ho mai avuto problemi simili
- se termino sessione utente ed entro con altro utente non c'è alcun problema
- info macchina: notebook P4 2GHz 1GbRam 80GbHD dualboot WIN XP\Ubuntu 10.04

tks,
LVS.-

[Bug 593524] Re: File Browser bookmark name restored on restart

2010-06-14 Thread Shibu
* It is reproducible.
* Steps.
  1. In your File Browser take any Folder say /home/myuser/myfolder/mysubfolder
  2. From the Bookmarks menu, click Add Bookmark. Now it will be added to the
Bookmarks and it will be shown as 'mysubfolder' in the Side Pane.
  3. In the Side Pane, right click 'mysubfolder' and click Rename. Give any new
name say 'foo'. Now in the Bookmarks menu, it has been changed to 'foo'. But in
the Side Pane it is still 'mysubfolder'.
  4. Close and retake the File Browser. Now in the Bookmarks and Side Pane it
is 'foo'.
  5. Quit the nautilus (nautilus -q). Now in the Bookmarks and Side Pane 'foo'
is changed to 'mysubfolder', the folder name.

[Bug 259485] Re: (bad render) incorrect float parsing in data attribute in tag path

2010-06-14 Thread Louis Simard
This bug and the one cited in the GNOME bug are mutually exclusive. No
fix covers incorrect float parsing in path data *and* corrupt Paris
Aisleriot card theme at once. The upstream bug for corrupt Paris
Aisleriot card theme
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=563933) says that a fix for
incorrect float parsing in path data (this bug) made it regress, but
in doing so, GNOME librsvg reacquired the bug incorrect float parsing
in path data.

Ubuntu's librsvg got the fix for corrupt Paris Aisleriot card theme
last week. In doing so, this bug reappeared, and is the very same issue
that has been reported originally in 2008 and fixed.

For a bug that attempts to fix both the Paris Aisleriot card theme being
corrupted, and this bug, please see bug 370061 and mark this one as a
duplicate as appropriate.

[Bug 593599] [NEW] Disk Mounter shows shadowed mounts, while it shouldn't

2010-06-14 Thread Aleksander Morgado
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

In Ubuntu 10.04, gnome-applets version 2.30.0-0ubuntu2.

If a GMount is shadowed, which can be checked with
g_mount_is_shadowed(), it shouldn't be shown in the Disk Mounter applet.

Currently, I've got a device that when connected, it's shown twice in
the Disk Mounter. gvfs-mount -li shows 2 GMounts for the same mount,
but one of them is marked as shadowed, so it seems the Disk Mounter
doesn't consider that.

Also, Disk Mounter crashes when unmounting that duplicated mount.

Not sure who 'somebody' is. I reported this bug using

ubuntu-bug nautilus

So if it got reported in the wrong place, then that's a bug in
ubuntu-bug!

Having gone to the location suggested, I am none the wiser what to do.

I do not have a Bugzilla account - as far as I recall, and can really
not see why I should create one, when the details of the bug have been
reported. Why does the system not push bugs 'upstream' if that is
needed.

could you try to look for the number yourself? we got hundred of

number to copy in those bugs, that's the most reported bug on this

[Bug 393720] Re: To hide files/directories is complex

2010-06-14 Thread Dr. Kenobi
Upstream Comment:

Allan Day 2010-06-14 08:28:24 UTC
Thanks for the additional information.

Apps shouldn't go creating directories in /home/user that's what
.config and .local are for. In that sense, this enhancement would be a
workaround for bugs in other software.

My usability concern about this is that users might hide files and
directories and then forget where they are located, or might not realise
how to make them visible.

Rereading the bug report, I don't think scripts facilities is the
correct component. Adjusting.

Sorry but my job is to get the Ubuntu Desktop as solid and nicely
working as we can and the way to get there is to fix issues not to spend
days searching for duplicates numbers. I understand the situation is
suboptimal but with limited manpower we can search for numbers for every
duplicates files, so either we let the buglist become useless because it
gets all those known duplicates still open or we close the bugs, I've
decided for the second way

[Bug 593478] Re: Change view when nautilus is less than full screen

2010-06-14 Thread Bruno Girin
@Chris,

You reported the bug in the right place, as all bugs should first be
reported in Launchpad. On a piece of software like Nautilus, one of the
first things that happens is to identify whether the bug is due to
Ubuntu packaging or whether it's in the original code from upstream (in
this case GNOME). So in effect, Sebastien was saying: I've had a look,
the bug is an upstream one. When this is the case, it then needs to be
forwarded upstream. The 'someone' in Sebastien's message is generally a
Ubuntu BugSquad member but can be anybody who has a Bugzilla account and
feels that he understand the bug enough to forward it. In this case, I
did it so there is no need for you to do anything.

As for automating the upstream reporting, this is not done today because
it requires a few manual steps in addition to just filing a new bug (in
particular, you need to check whether the bug already exists upstream or
not). Having said this, Launchpad could probably be extended to help
this process but I don't think it can be fully automated.

Anyway, thanks for reporting this bug and please report any other that
you find.

Ok, Sebastien, I think we both face the same problem: We cannot find the
right bug report for the given bug in a suitable amount of time. You
know that there is one (otherwise you wouldn't have closed the bug, I
guess) while I did not.

I accept that the bug is already tracked *somewhere* else, but I think
finding an existing bug should somehow be improved then. Hoping for
better times to come...

[Bug 584183] Re: Evolution crashes almost randomly

2010-06-14 Thread ubuntolo
Maybe it's due to the fact that I didn't post my logs? But Rick provided them,

Anyway I will not have the time to setup all the things needed to produce those
logs before the next weekend, so I hope that someone can begin working on
Rick's files...
I agree in considering this bug as a major one, we're talking about random and
frequent crashes in the main e-mail application of the distribution... Seems
that other GNOME ditros haven't reported this bug: can it suggest that the bug
is in another Evolution-connected component (the new global messaging menu for

[Bug 560575] Re: Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else

2010-06-14 Thread Captain Chaos
Here is the text of the Gnome bug. It's describes the problem very
precisely and I really cannot make it any simpler, as it is a complex
problem.

Also please re-read the second paragraph of comment #10, as I state what
I think the bug is there as clearly as I can.

If you still don't understand it perhaps it would be better if you asked
specific questions so I could answer those.

When Empathy is running, with one or more accounts logged in and in Available
status, and one or more accounts off-line and listed as name in use because
the user has logged in elsewhere; when the idle time-out expires Empathy goes
to Away status and logs back in to all the name in use accounts, kicking the
user out wherever else they had logged in!

There are reports that the same thing happens when the computer is no longer
idle and Empathy automatically goes back to Available.

When *all* accounts are listed as name in use Empathy automatically goes to
Offline status, and then the problem does not occur. Apparently it only happens
when Empathy is still in Available status because not all accounts are
off-line.

The problem can be simulated by manually setting Empathy to Away status when it
is Available and there are off-line accounts listed as name in use, and
observing that all accounts are re-enabled.

The correct behaviour would be that Empathy never automatically logs back in to
name in use accounts, but only does so when explicitly directed to by the
user, preferably with one click of a button like Pidgin does.
