[Bug 665516] Re: Canon 20D camera not detected by f-spot and nautilus
In f-spot we rely on gvfsd-gphoto2 for providing us with photo information. The fact that gphoto2 sees the camera but gvfs-gphoto2 does not leads me to suspect that this is an issue with gvfs, with the unfortunate result that f-spot does not see the camera. Shotwell uses GPhoto2 directly, which is prone to locking issues with gvfs-gphoto2 (exactly the reason why we migrated away from libgphoto2). This bug will affect Shotwell as well should they make the same migration. Normally there should not be a discrepancy between gphoto2 and gvfs- gphoto2. ** Package changed: f-spot (Ubuntu) = gvfs (Ubuntu) -- Canon 20D camera not detected by f-spot and nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665516 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 665548] [NEW] changing workspaces is very slow in case of big terminal windows
Public bug reported: First, sorry if this bug is not vte related, maybe it's more gtk than vte? I can only reproduce this problem with gnome-terminal and xfce4-terminal but not with xterm for example. The common thing between xfce4-terminal and gnome-terminal is using libvte as well, that's the reason I try to bugreport here. If I was wrong, please move my report to the right place, thanks! The bug now: I'm using multiple workspaces (desktops) under gnome/metacity with Ubuntu maverick 32bit OS. I have this problem on two machines, but it's hard to tell when, it seems if the problem begins it remains, but I don't know what can cause the beginning of the problem. If I change workspaces, and I switch onto a workspace which have a large enough terminal window (not a standard 80x24 but a larger, like 130x90 or even full screen) the change is _very_ slow, sometimes my X session is frozen for 4-5 seconds! Within that time I see the old workspace (but as frozen, though I can move the mouse cursor) before the new appears. It seems I can have even dozens of terminal windows without a problem, if none of them is large enough window to trigger the problem. This is a very annoying problem for me, because I'm using terminals and multiple workspaces quite heavily, but that delay is awful especially if I only want a quick look at a terminal then I would switch back to another one on another workspace. As I've already told, it seems xterm is not affected only gtk/vte based terminals. I am not using compiz at all (though I've activated the internal compositing support of metacity wia gconf). The problem exists even with semi transparent and non- transparent (static black) background configured for gnome-terminal. [Bug 665576] [NEW] panel and desktop switch to KDE when resuming from suspend
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I have an issue when resuming from suspend. The panel icons are all KDE and other apps, such as the update manager also display in KDE. On Sat, 2010-10-23 at 11:28 +, Vish wrote: Hmm, actually I'm not able to reproduce the problem with the link given in the bug. The link you mention here is just redirecting now. Although that specific eBay auction is over, these same links still show my problem. Click on the first long URL (in a email viewed in Evolution) and it'll take you to an eBay page that indicates that the listing has been removed, or the item is not available. However, if you copy that same long URL directly from the email viewed in Evolution, and then manually paste it into Firefox, it'll correctly take you to an eBay page that shows the auction has ended, and further down, you'll see the specific item. But i notice the problem of truncated links. and those do not copy over to OpenOffice Writer. If you create a new OO Writer document, and paste that same long URL, follow by a carriage return, copied from the email in Evolution, and then right-click directly on that URL in the OO Writer document, and select Open Hyperlink from the contextual menu, it correctly takes you to the auction has ended page, as it should. I have this and a tendency for the panel to become KDE based after resuming. My comment has more to do with the this bug only happening in one of my partitions; both of which are running Maverick. [Bug 665478] Re: Evolution crashes after upgrade to Maverick
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
