[Bug 793381] [NEW] evolution crashes with segmentation fault
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have a typical situation I am across my office proxy using ubuntu 11.04. I have set the static ip and also the network proxy to entire system through network proxy settings. I use and like evolution as my mail handler and i am using it for almost 5 years now. This problem which i will tell you was not there before ubuntu 11.04. To update i use to use apt-get command from command window. it was not working after upgrade to ubuntu 11.04. from ubuntu community i found out to add lines given below in my /home/`/.bashrc export http_proxy=192.168.90.94:8080 export https_proxy=192.168.90.94:8080 export ftp_proxy=192.168.90.94:8080 In evolution I have set network preferences as use system defaults. Now when io try to use evolution to send and receive mails it does not work it gives error of time out. Next when i set network proxy system wide to direct connection and then run evolution from user prompt in command window then the evolution starts fetchin mails and sending them. I tried with removing the lines from .bashrc and then using system proxy settings it never worked. i ried to set proxy in evolution separately it still didn't work. This has become a great unconvinience as if i use direct connection settings in network proxy settings it stops browsers and other applications from using internet across proxy and only evolution fetches mails. and vice a versa. Am i amking any mistake. can this be set right. Please help. I have the same problem. Iphone 4 on 4.2.1 using Banshee on 11.04. Banshee and the iphone both think they have synced but nothing on the iphone in the ipod has changed (visually). Copying to USB external drive is very slow and in most cases stops copying. It would seem this is so for large files. I have had problems with files over 200MB. Small files copy without a problem. Copying large files 1G or more fails or slows to taking hours to complete a copy. As the copy process goes beyond 200Mbyes the process slows down to almost stoping. I cannot copy a whole directory. I cannot copy any files of more than 200mb without problems. Clean boot with out running othe programs does not help. I have check drive permissions , but this does not explain why large files fail too. Test system D510M0 Intel mother board with 2G ram. Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS with all up dates. Samsung 320G external drive format 32. Your problem seems the exact opposite of mine: I have no problem copying large files and it is not slow. In my case what is slow is copying many small files. Although the date in the text field is correct, the graphic calendar still shows the date at which you either originally logged in, or clicked the calendar before. 4) Hide it, and show it once more. My speculation is that this is related to Unity because only windows near the left-hand edge of the screen are affected. I run Ubuntu 10.10 and Empathy 2.32.1 and I can confirm that copy/paste from Empathy is broken in some circumstances. Whenever I try to copy paste a conversation to Gmail (using Firefox 3.6.17) I'm unable to paste. I have to paste first in gedit and then re- copy/paste to FF. On the other hand I tested with Google Chrome and it works fine. In GNOME Terminal (2.32.0) paste does not work if I use the context menu - paste. Thanks for your reply. A power spike during a thunder storm resulted in the boot sequence of Ubuntu becoming corrupted. I had to reinstall from CD. After that, the emblems were OK. Since then, I have never tried to synchronize any folders outside the Ubuntu One folder and all emblems display OK now. I think the problem resulted from my trying to synchronize folders outside Ubuntu One and the other named home folders. Thanks. I will test it and let you know then. Now I have to say that I am getting the issue not only when the machine is under a high CPU workload but also when it is just up for some longer time (uptime), say 1-2 weeks or so and it is of course used for activities like multiple ssh logins to other machines, typing commands in the terminals, text output on to the terminals etc. It does not help to close those terminals and to open new ones. I concur with emory. Statuses should be gender-neutral - in *all* localizations. If the Russian localization is worded in a gender- specific way, it's the Russian localization's problem. (I would suggest gender-neutral Russian translations such as Нет на месте).
