[Bug 966656] Re: indicator-applet - high contrast icons missing when high contrast themes selected - compromising Accessibility Standards

2012-07-07 Thread Paul
Hi all,

I stumbled here on accident, but maybe I can make an useful
contribution to this issue. I have been updating the standard (Xfce)
High Contrast theme, as many icons are missing. Not just indicator
applet, but also many application, action and places icons.

You can see my progress here: http://xfce-
look.org/content/show.php?action=contentcontent=151928

It is not anywhere near a solution for this issue, but maybe it can help
the Ubuntu Accessibility team to move to a more complete solution
quicker.

[Bug 1022077] [NEW] Rhythmbox messes up ID3 tags

2012-07-07 Thread Milan Pavkovic
Public bug reported:

All my music is located on an external USB drive. In Rhythmbox music
library location is set to ~/Music. In ~/Music I created a symbolic link

[Bug 996344] Re: Podcasts in double

2012-07-07 Thread aron.sakuragi
In Rhythmbox folder in my home I found many xml files; the user who
helps me noticed there was a %20 instead of the blank in the name of the
podcast folder and suggested to me to erase it (for example, xml file:
user%20name; on the desktop user name). In my case it seems to work
at the moment, but I cannot test it often. See if there is a similar
situation in your folder, too.

o.K than please attach a picture for reproducing and choose one path to
the crash. Here comes a standard text:

Please give a step by step description like pushing this button,
choosing that, waiting for, and so on). Give a good algorithmic
description, that is complete and can guide a beginner in gimp to the
point where the problem happends.

(step1,
 step2,
.
.
.
finished)

After that set the status of this report back to new.

[Bug 1022100] [NEW] evince does not store settings

2012-07-07 Thread Lukas Hejtmanek
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I use XFCE environment and evince. On evince start, I get message:

** (evince:14863): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus
address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files

Maybe it is related to the main problem, evince does not preserve any
setting I made (e.g., non continuous viewing). At each new start, I have
to again turn off continuous viewing. Also zoom level nor window size is
not preserved. Either for old pdf files or new ones.

I use ubuntu quantal (but this bug is present also in 12.04). I use

[Bug 838792] Re: Restart logs out, even when there are no other people logged in

2012-07-07 Thread Henning Moll
same here on 12.04 64bit. No auto-login.

Trying to shutdown from a (one and only) Desktop session just logs out
to lightdm. There shutdown leads to nothing. No reaction. There is no
other real session running. The output of ck-list-sessions:

Session4:
unix-user = '123'
realname = 'Cloudera Manager'
seat = 'Seat1'
session-type = ''
active = FALSE
x11-display = ''
x11-display-device = ''
display-device = '/dev/???'
remote-host-name = ''
is-local = TRUE
on-since = '2012-07-07T16:21:25.747608Z'
login-session-id = '4294967295'
Session5:
unix-user = '1000'
realname = 'foobar'
seat = 'Seat1'
session-type = ''
active = FALSE
x11-display = ''
x11-display-device = ''
display-device = '/dev/tty1'
remote-host-name = ''
is-local = TRUE
on-since = '2012-07-07T16:21:51.036134Z'
login-session-id = '4294967295'
idle-since-hint = '2012-07-07T16:25:22.841253Z'

The latter sessions of course exists only because i need to start a tty
login to run the command. So normaly there is only this user 123. The
processes of that user are just some server processes.

After shutting them down (and closing my tty session) i am able to
shutdown the system.

In my case (and for those reporting other server processes) the problem
seems to be, that ConsoleKit (ck-list-session) threats some user
processes as active user. How to fix this?

[Bug 952494] Re: Gnome Classic: F10 captured globally w/o compiz, w/o Unity

2012-07-07 Thread Radu Cristescu
Funny thing happened that the maintainers may want to know. Recently, I
experienced bug #963125 so I ended up deleting my entire .gconf and I
started with the defaults again. Today I thought I'd give this F10 bug a
try, as all my keybinding options for the terminal were reset, and F10
is working properly (i.e. when unbound, it stops working, as it should).

Since I've been upgrading my Ubuntu since 9.10, I'm starting to believe
Gnome and/or other things trip on things from the past. Even my Unity-2D
desktop environment is a lot smoother than prior to deleting .gconf so I
wonder if this is the equivalent of the reinstall people have to do on
another popular OS.

[Bug 969359] Re: [keyboard]: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu (and blinking numlock)

2012-07-07 Thread Maarten Baert
I've encountered this bug, but only on one computer. I'm running an
almost identical setup on two laptops, but I've never seen this happen
on the first one (after using it for months). I've seen it happen twice
on the second laptop in about a week.

What I've noticed:
- Num Lock LED is blinking rapidly, numpad acts accordingly (i.e. it's unusable)
- after some time nautilus reverts to the default icon set and GTK theme (can
be fixed by restarting nautilus after the system has 'calmed down')
- I get this error message every time Num Lock is pressed:
(gnome-settings-daemon:14095): libappindicator-CRITICAL **:
app_indicator_set_label: assertion `IS_APP_INDICATOR (self)' failed
(this error message is repeated thousands of times in .xsession-errors)
- apparently I can 'calm the system down' by unplugging the external keyboard
and plugging it back in (I had to do this twice though before it actually
worked)
- both times it happened after I woke the computer (the screen was blanked).
This could be completely unrelated though, because most of the time awaking it
works just fine.

I'm using Linux Mint 13 (based on Ubuntu 12.04) 64-bit, and GNOME
Fallback without effects.

First laptop (bug does not occur on this one):
- Dell Studio 1749, Intel i5 540M, ATI Radeon HD 5650 (using open source driver)
- does not have a Num Lock LED, I'm using indicator-keylock instead (which is
also behaving a bit weird actually)
- no external keyboard

Second laptop:
- Dell Inspiron 1720, Intel Core2 Duo T9300, nVidia GeForce 8600 (using
proprietary driver)
- uses an external keyboard

I will try renaming keyboard.gnome-settings-plugin.

[Bug 738241] Re: gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed with SIGABRT in __kernel_vsyscall()

2012-07-07 Thread Mikhail Titov
It is a possible duplicate of #571038 .
I had gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed after I upgraded to Precise from Oneiric.
Since I'm affected by #571038, I had to patch udisks. After that
gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor did not crush for me.
Does palipmsest tool start okay for you? If not try patching (or using ppa) as
described in #571038.
