Re: [Bug 1035219] Re: In System Settings preference tool/keyboard layouts page automaticaly wrong language selectedGNOME
Hy Gunnar, I added your PPA with my Ubuntu Quantal development system, and install awailable upgrades your PPA. After restart I experienced following test results when I launch system settings preference tool: 1. When I click Language support and goto language list, list correct focused the actual used system language (hungarian). So, this is working correct. If I goto the local formats page, current selected format is right hungarian. 2. If I click Region and language preference pane, press two TAB key to goto language list, independent with my actual used language and locale is hungarian the language list default selected item is english, so this bug is exist in you doed Region and language pane unfortunately. [Bug 1035219] Re: In System Settings preference tool/keyboard layouts page automaticaly wrong language selectedGNOME
@Attila Thanks for testing and letting us know about it! What you say confirms my own observations. AFAIK gnome-control-center's Region and Language capplet has not yet been adapted to work smooth on an Ubuntu OS/distro. The gremix versions in my PPA contain only a couple of small modifications to make it possible to test Region and Language without installing GNOME Remix. (My attempts to install the latter failed.) I suppose that the developers behind GNOME Remix will need to decide how much of buggy behavior and loss of functionality is acceptable to be able to drop language-selector in Quantal. My personal view is that also GNOME Remix ought to stick to language- selector + the Keyboard Layout capplet in Quantal. It's too late in the cycle to do anything else. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035219 Title: In System Settings preference tool/keyboard layouts page automaticaly wrong language selectedGNOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/1035219/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1063187] [NEW] rhythmbox fonts are not displayed correctly

Please see attached screenshot, particularly the 'by Hugh...' element, the 'y' and the 'g' have the lower elements of the glyphs truncated. [Bug 755195] Re: gcalctool should calculate the result when the = key is pressed
Hi peterzay, This is not possible to be done, because gcalctool supports storing results as variable (e.g. a = 123+34) and then use them in another expressions (e.g. b = 123+a). And, if this request is implemented, it will be impossible to enter something like a = 123+34. Even if we implement it by checking that if = is entered after numbers, then evaluate. And if = is entered after characters, then don't evaluate. This, then it brings more problems, as it won't work when entering something like 123+ans = or with hexadecimal digits (e.g. 123abc + 1b =). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gcalctool in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/755195 Title: gcalctool should calculate the result when the = key is pressed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gcalctool/+bug/755195/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1063282] [NEW] Nautilus goes berserk when broswing folders with many files
Public bug reported: I have a folder that contains about 40,000 small images. When I open this folder in Nautilus, it starts exhibiting the following absurd behaviors: 1. It takes ages to show the list of files (even in list mode). Ages means several minutes, while getting the complete list in a terminal with ls -la takes about a second. Showing image previews is the only thing that it is reasonable to expect that takes a long time, but they are not needed to show the file list, and actually they are loaded later in a threaded manner, so there's no reason why showing the file list should take that long. 40,000 files is not much. 2. The file name column becomes huge (exceeding by far the windows width, so a horizontal scroll bar appears), and there's no reason for it, since none of the files has a very long name. You have to manually shrink the name column to see the other columns. Every single time you open this folder. 3. When the file list is already visible and Nautilus has become responsive again (you can easily scroll down/up, select files etc) while it is still loading image previews, if you *navigate away* from the folder (e.g. by clicking on the name of the containing folder on the top of the window), it takes ages to go out, as it took to get in. And much worse, while Nautilus is thinking, it becomes completely unresposive and the window greys out. That you have to wait a little when you navigate _into_ a folder that has many files makes sense (though it's not even closely as efficient as it could), but that it takes long to go _out_ is absurd. There's nothing to process, just forget what you were doing and show me the containing folder (which does not have many files at all). Any memory deallocation or whatever, should be done in the background. Two years and still no decent reply about this problem?
