Re: [Bug 1035219] Re: In System Settings preference tool/keyboard layouts page automaticaly wrong language selectedGNOME

2012-10-07 Thread Attila Hammer
Hy Gunnar,

I added your PPA with my Ubuntu Quantal development system, and install
awailable upgrades your PPA.
After restart I experienced following test results when I launch system
settings preference tool:
1. When I click Language support and goto language list, list correct
focused the actual used system language (hungarian). So, this is working
correct.
If I goto the local formats page, current selected format is right
hungarian.

2. If I click Region and language preference pane, press two TAB key to
goto language list, independent with my actual used language and locale
is hungarian the language list default selected item is english, so this
bug is exist in you doed Region and language pane unfortunately.

Hope this test results help you,

Attila

[Bug 1040193] Re: Redundant ubuntu-online-accounts and gnome-online-accounts panels using a session other than Unity

2012-10-07 Thread brian baker
it also doesn't allow gnome-contacts to function either!
when you try to add an online account it takes you to online accounts window
and allows you to set up an account i.e. google
after going through the various steps of authentication it just stops! it
should take you back into gnome-contacts but it doesn't.
when you run gnome-contacts through a terminal it shows no errors either!

i also filed this bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679733
cheers

[Bug 1035219] Re: In System Settings preference tool/keyboard layouts page automaticaly wrong language selectedGNOME

2012-10-07 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
@Attila
Thanks for testing and letting us know about it! What you say confirms my own
observations.

AFAIK gnome-control-center's Region and Language capplet has not yet
been adapted to work smooth on an Ubuntu OS/distro. The gremix
versions in my PPA contain only a couple of small modifications to make
it possible to test Region and Language without installing GNOME
Remix. (My attempts to install the latter failed.) I suppose that the
developers behind GNOME Remix will need to decide how much of buggy
behavior and loss of functionality is acceptable to be able to drop
language-selector in Quantal.

My personal view is that also GNOME Remix ought to stick to language-
selector + the Keyboard Layout capplet in Quantal. It's too late in
the cycle to do anything else.

[Bug 996331] Re: Could not able to perform NOT operation in programming calculator

2012-10-07 Thread PioneerAxon
Hi pradeep, I think it is normal behaviour for gcalctool.
What the parser is intended to do is, process not for expressoin NOT
NUMBER.
The Not button inserts a NOT symbol in text, which is then passed to parser
with structure similar like NUMBER NOT.
So, what you need to do is press not button before entering the number.

Hope this helps.

[Bug 1063187] [NEW] rhythmbox fonts are not displayed correctly

2012-10-07 Thread Neil Munro
Public bug reported:

Using Rhythmbox on 12.04 with the default system fonts certain words do
not display correctly.

Please see attached screenshot, particularly the 'by Hugh...' element,
the 'y' and the 'g' have the lower elements of the glyphs truncated. You
can clearly see that the 'g' almost resembles a lower case 'a' due to
the truncation issue.

I simply thought that the meta-data was input wrong, but the 'by' also
has the 'y' looking almost 'v' shaped.

Possibly to do with gtk widget re-sizing, but I'm just taking a wild
stab in the dark.

2012-10-07 Thread PioneerAxon
Hey Matt,
Have you been able to reproduce the bug on some other hardware? Or can you give
some specific steps by which we can reproduce the bug?
From what I can see, there must be a bug in the graphics driver, and not in
gcalctool. Do you often see similar behaviour in other applications on your
machine??

[Bug 755195] Re: gcalctool should calculate the result when the = key is pressed

2012-10-07 Thread PioneerAxon
Hi peterzay,
This is not possible to be done, because gcalctool supports storing results as
variable (e.g. a = 123+34) and then use them in another expressions (e.g. b
= 123+a).

And, if this request is implemented, it will be impossible to enter
something like a = 123+34.

Even if we implement it by checking that if = is entered after
numbers, then evaluate. And if = is entered after characters, then
don't evaluate. This, then it brings more problems, as it won't work
when entering something like 123+ans = or with hexadecimal digits
(e.g. 123abc + 1b =).

[Bug 1012277] Re: Closing laptop lid should not blank external monitor

2012-10-07 Thread Matthias Laumer
found that this behavior is more or less like a screensaver ...
When I connect an external mouse or keyboard, connect my Laptop to my TV via
HDMI and close the Laptop-lid, the TV is blanking like usual, but after moving
my external mouse, the display is coming back immediatelly. No problem then.

Can someone confirm this ?

[Bug 1063282] [NEW] Nautilus goes berserk when broswing folders with many files

2012-10-07 Thread matteo sisti sette
Public bug reported:

I have a folder that contains about 40,000 small images. When I open
this folder in Nautilus, it starts exhibiting the following absurd
behaviors:

1. It takes ages to show the list of files (even in list mode). Ages
means several minutes, while getting the complete list in a terminal
with ls -la takes about a second. Showing image previews is the only
thing that it is reasonable to expect that takes a long time, but they
are not needed to show the file list, and actually they are loaded later
in a threaded manner, so there's no reason why showing the file list
should take that long. 40,000 files is not much.

2. The file name column becomes huge (exceeding by far the windows
width, so a horizontal scroll bar appears), and there's no reason for
it, since none of the files has a very long name. You have to manually
shrink the name column to see the other columns. Every single time you
open this folder.

3. When the file list is already visible and Nautilus has become
responsive again (you can easily scroll down/up, select files etc) while
it is still loading image previews, if you *navigate away* from the
folder (e.g. by clicking on the name of the containing folder on the top
of the window), it takes ages to go out, as it took to get in. And much
worse, while Nautilus is thinking, it becomes completely unresposive
and the window greys out. That you have to wait a little when you
navigate _into_ a folder that has many files makes sense (though it's
not even closely as efficient as it could), but that it takes long to go
_out_ is absurd. There's nothing to process, just forget what you were
doing and show me the containing folder (which does not have many files
at all). Any memory deallocation or whatever, should be done in the
background.

[Bug 755195] Re: gcalctool should calculate the result when the = key is pressed

2012-10-07 Thread peterzay
What you describe in comment #7 is normally considered advanced
calculator function.

In basic (default) mode, a calculator should always behave symmetrically
between mouse action and keyboard action. If I click on the = sign on
screen and get a result, then pressing the = key should give the same
result.

In a basic calculator, we expect basic behaviour.

In prior versions of gcalctool, this has always been this way.

[Bug 917108] Re: view == offline contacts option mostly dont work.

2012-10-07 Thread Igor Santos
Not sure if this can help, but I just noticed that changing the group of an
offline contact that shouldn't be appearing (caused by this bug) to another
group actually makes it disappear after being moved.
This also happens if one of those contacts are added to another group. They
vanish both in the new group and the old group.

[Bug 610131] Re: Facebook contacts cannot be added to groups

2012-10-07 Thread Igor Santos
Two years and still no decent reply about this problem?
I found that the most annoying thing on this bug report is that you CAN create
groups and you CAN add people to them, and empathy silently screw things up
when you restart it.
Why is not possible to save groups locally? I'm sure the data structure is not
coming from the Internet, but being created locally with remote data. Is it
that hard to simply save locally the assigned groups for Facebook contacts?
