[Bug 1075421] Re: Realtek RTL8188CE wireless does not work in Ubuntu 12.04LTS
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 902557 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902557 I finally fixed this problem by compiling and installing the latest drivers from Linux Wireless in Ubuntu 12.04, in my case the compat- wireless-3.5.1-1-snpc.tar.bz2 package: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download/stable/ One needs the header files for his kernel and the build-essentials package. I recommend also to run the script driver-select with the option rtlwifi before compiling because one doesn't need the other drivers and it reduces building time: sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r) build-essential tar jvxf compat-wireless-3.5.1-1-snpc.tar.bz2 cd compat-wireless-3.5.1-1-snpc ./scripts/driver-select rtlwifi make sudo make install But the downside is you have to rebuild the driver after every kernel update. [Bug 1177580] Re: empathy isn't activating indicator when a message is received
After restarting my Ubuntu VM, notifications appear to be working properly. Well, at least I get a notification bubble, and a blue message envelope, though I'm not seeing the change in the dock's tiny triangle (item #2 from the list in the bug description). I noticed that I had a 'telepathy-indicator' process running. When I killed it and asked someone to IM me, I got the behavior I described in the bug description. [Bug 1179721] [NEW] Rhythmbox does not play PLS files in 13.04

However, X11 can't (MICMUTE is out of range), we have to remap it to something that X11 can use. We've used F21-23 before, so I assumed that was the best place to put it. I'm open to suggestions. Currently symbols/inet(evdev) is used for all keyboards, so all of them would use F20 for micmute. I am not very happy about that... What keyboards have F20? We're already using F21-23 for the touchpad on/off/toggle buttons, so there is a precedent for this. Even the X Termainal photo from Wikipedia only has up to F12 Sun keyboards in the 80's had 35 F-keys - since around 1990 many of those were relabeled - the left side keys to the SunStop, SunProps, etc and the right side to the numeric keypad. Those were only found on the old Sun 4 and older systems, not any UltraSPARC, x86 or AMD64 systems. I think other Unix workstations from the era had similarly large amounts of F keys for the CAD/CAM applications of the time, but those fell out of use over the years. [Bug 1179751] [NEW] Nautilus image folders cannot be used until thumbnailing is complete
Public bug reported: I have lots of folders with images and of course, I use the file list with thumbnails. It would be great, but I cannot do any file operation because the file thumbnails have a different size and modify each line's height, so my files go down. See the attached movie for details.
