[Bug 933333] Re: Empathy open conversation window off screen after monitor is disconnected

2013-07-18 Thread seoman
It's still happening in Ubuntu 13.04.

As explained in the original post, you can reproduce it using 2
different external monitors in a laptop, for example. Left the laptop
hibernating, change the monitor and open de laptop again. Some of the
windows will be off the screen with no way to recover them.

[Bug 1196177] Re: Gnome-Panel White Square (Gnome-Fallback-Session/Flashback)

2013-07-18 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
Probably I have found fix that works. :) Now Ambiance theme realy works
for me with metacity or compiz. I dont see any regression. Made quick
test with Adwaita theme, it seems that it works just fine.

Maybe someone can explain me why this line was needed :
GTK_WIDGET_CLASS (panel_widget_parent_class)-style_updated (widget);

It seems that with gtk 3.8.2 it was causing only problems...

[Bug 1011257] Re: x-gvfs-show option doesn't work

2013-07-18 Thread caleb
I'm experiencing the same problem on Ubunutu 13.04, util-linux
2.20.1-5.1ubuntu8, gnome-diskutility 3.6.1-1ubuntu1

Here's the relevant fstab lines. (all three were generated by the Disks
utility):

# Windows is installed on sda1 (and sda3)
/dev/disk/by-partlabel/Win7 /mnt/Win7 auto
nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show,x-gvfs-name=windows7 0 0
# these are the 2TB hard drives (usually sdb and sdc)
/dev/disk/by-partlabel/TB_ntfs /mnt/TB_ntfs auto
nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show,x-gvfs-name=1TB%20-%20ntfs 0 0
/dev/disk/by-partlabel/TB_ext4 /mnt/TB_ext4 auto
nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show,x-gvfs-name=1TB%20-%20ext4 0 0

What's interesting is that the ntfs partitions in the above lines mount just
fine; the show up in Files browser, etc.
The ext4 partition does not mount, generating the dmesg:
EXT4-fs (sdc1): Unrecognized mount option x-gvfs-show or missing value

2013-07-18 Thread Jonathan Carter
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1002780 ***

@James It's a complicated backport, since it depends on almost all of
GTK and other libraries, so it would take a huge effort to properly
backport. Precise users will unfortunately have to rely on a PPA for the
latest Gimp until 14.04 is released.

It looks like evince is being run as root to try to read a file it does not
actually have permission to read without using root privileges.

I do not believe we will ever want to support running evince with
elevated capabilities for the purposes of allowing root to bypass access
controls -- a legitimate root user can simply copy the desired data via
an unconfined mechanism.

Probably the evince tests need to be modified to not run evince as root,
or change the file or directory permissions to allow root to access the
files without using root privileges.

Thanks

[Bug 882307] Re: [list-view] After copying text from a rename entry, file copy menus items are broken

Or course this could be a new bug with paste grayed out but a new bug
report was entered and was marked as a duplicate of this one (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/949468) so
others seem to think it is the same root problem.

If someone wants to release a new feature I would highly suggest quality
control. When copy/paste doesn't work it is hard to tell people how
great this product is.
