It makes it more difficult that selecting text isn't possible with mouse. [Test Case] - Write anything in a note - Try to select text in a note - Try to delete it with 'x' or with 'delete notes' menu item [Proposed Fix] The fix is a backport of three upstream commits: - https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-applets/commit/?id=85041d6567c78b4a “sticky-notes: make sure that notes are really saved” - https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-applets/commit/?id=0c4e0c4fed0c61bf “sticky-notes: fix path to resource file for delete dialog” - https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-applets/commit/?id=e189ba213c0f8db8 “sticky-notes: fix text selection” [Regression Potential] The fix definitely improves the Sticky Notes applet because without ability to save notes that applet is mostly unusable. It does not touch other applets so no regression expected there. [Other Info] System configuration: roland@roland-Lenovo-ideapad-110-15I `:+ss+:` -+ssyy+- OS: Ubuntu 17.04 x86_64 .ossdMMMNyo. [Bug 1703110] Sticky notes
Hi everyone, Sticky Notes is such a useful tool I just can't do my work without it. But haven't been able to get the latest version work because of my poor skills in Linux. I managed to do a ton of stuff but everything is a first try. Could you help me if this new fix doesn't work on my system or it is not even installed properly. I installed the latest proposed version of gnome-applets(3.22.0-2ubuntu0.2) which has the latest Sticky Notes fixes. But I'm not sure if I really installed it because it doesn't seem to work, notes still can't be closed and text selected. Here's a picture of Synaptic showing it's installed in the attachment. I followed this and set selective upgrading for proposed packages. And I installed the latest gnome-applets from terminal. [Bug 1712271] Re: ubuntu dock uses (some) settings from dashtodock
As the ubuntu version is a fork, its quite expected you get some conflicts as you have not purged first dash-to-dock; disabling it is surely not enough. ** Changed in: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1712271 Title: ubuntu dock uses (some) settings from dashtodock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1712271/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1712279] [NEW] Can't add google account, shows "credentials have expired"

[Bug 1710637] Re: Input falls through to gdm3 and terminates the session on Ctrl+C
I've been affected by this issue this morning, It's it not only CTRL+C for also ALT+Fn, for example ALT-F4 switched to vt4 instead of closing the window. I didn't find any way to reproduce it reliably. I'm on x11. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1710637 Title: Input falls through to gdm3 and terminates the session on Ctrl+C To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1710637/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1712271] [NEW] ubuntu dock uses (some) settings from dashtodock
Public bug reported: Dash to dock already installed and in use in the past, configured to be along the bottom of the screen. Trying out ubuntu dock (after turning dash to dock off), it *also* sits along the bottom of the screen. Changing the position setting in dash to dock's settings, even though that extension was not enabled, fixed the problem. It looks like other settings from dash to dock are also being used, and in addition it changed *some* of dash to dock's settings from what they were before. eg: it set it to panel mode, when it wasn't before. But of course it did *not* change the position setting. Ubuntu dock settings are expected to be non-user-modifiable and should be independent of dash to dock's settings. (If you want the customisability, use dash to dock properly.) (dash to dock, in this case, is the one installed from the artful repos, not from the gnome extensions site. It looks like being the same actual version though.) [Bug 1712244] Re: Default Window Action Key changed from Alt to Super
Please clarify what you mean by "Window Action Key". What do you expect such a feature to do? Also, are you comparing Gnome Shell to Unity, or to a previous version of Gnome Shell. As far as I can tell, Super is doing what Super should do in Gnome Shell. Alt does nothing by itself. So if you're comparing Gnome Shell to Unity then those are completely different features and should not use Alt in Gnome Shell. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1712244 Title: Default Window Action Key changed from Alt to Super To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1712244/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
