Apologies for not replying sooner. Those workarounds solved my problem.
However, it would be nice if this was fixed in later updates.

Thank you, all, for your help.

Re: [Bug 1767817] Re: Full text search does not work

2018-08-03 Thread Balazs Pere
Why don't want the developers fix this (and other) bug? Whether do they
want me to use the non-LTS releases? Or do they want me to use other
distros than Ubuntu?
So I would like to use Ubuntu 18.04 with full gnome functionality without
bugs. (e.g. without memory leak...)

[Bug 1767817] Re: Full text search does not work

2018-08-03 Thread Mordi
You don't need Nautilus to search documents by content: for that,
install gnome-documents. However, there is a bug: if you search
documents from Gnome Shell, Gnome Documents will eventually crash and
need to be restarted. To get around this bug, you have to disable the
functionality from Settings/Search. Thereby, the only way to search
documents by content is from Gnome Documents -app.

[Bug 1780996] Re: Convert triggers to noawait

2018-08-03 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Julian, or anyone else affected,

Accepted libreoffice into xenial-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial4
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-control-center -

---
gnome-control-center (1:3.29.90-1~ubuntu1) cosmic; urgency=medium

  [ Iain Lane ]
  * Merge with unreleased Debian version (LP: #1784396)
Remaining changes:
+ debian/control.in:
  - Depend on language-selector-gnome and whoopsie-preferences
  - Depend on instead of Recommend network-manager-gnome and
system-config-printer-common
  - Recommend ibus
  - Suggest instead of Recommend gnome-user-share, realmd and rygel
  - Build-Depend on libwhoopsie-preferences-dev
  - Don't recommend libnss-myhostname since systemd-resolved handles this
functionality
+ Split gnome-control-center-faces to a separate package so
that it can be used by unity-control-center & recommend this
+ Install apport hook
+ debian/gnome-control-center-data.install:
  - Don't install gnome-control-center.pkla since we use
policykit-desktop-privileges instead

  - Install schemas, translations and the rfkill rule
+ Don't install gnome-settings-daemon.gsettings-override
  * debian/gbp.conf: Call the upstream tag pattern 'invalid' so that it
creates errors - you currently need to pass this manually.
  * debian/patches/70_allow_sound_above_100.patch: Drop - this has been
implemented upstream now.

gnome-settings-daemon (3.29.90.1-1) UNRELEASED; urgency=medium

from upstream master branch - make the tests more robust.
  * debian/rules, debian/control*: Run the tests fatally again and add a BD on
mutter which is now a requirement.
  * debian/control*: Set Rules-Requires-Root to no, since we don't need root
for any part of building the package.
  * Standards-Version → 4.1.5

gnome-settings-daemon (3.28.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release

[Bug 1782614] Re: Upgrade to 3.28.3 and SRU it

2018-08-03 Thread Iain Lane
Uploaded again, thanks Marco and Robie. This time I removed the
confusing bug reference and compressed the changelog entries into one.
The version is ...18.04.2 even though this is the first release of this
upstream release to bionic, because of the aforementioned tagging error.
