With intel integrated gpu things are normal. With my nvidia gpu occured
two problems:
* I disabled login screen because it was creating two intances of Xorg

The bug is not easy to work on without a reproducer or a debug
backtrace. Can you share the binary you are using which is hitting the
issue? If not could you at least get a debug backtrace (install the

As a work around, I just configured some short cut (super w) to 'Toggle

I have a optimus laptop with i7 Sandybridge and nvidia GT550M, there is a led
that indicates the nvidia GPU is always in use also after using the proposed
repos to test, the laptop is indeed very hot also after I select intel and
reboot and the led indicates that

Those are in bionic and can't be removed there so the bug is about
patching gtk to filter those specific files out, which is a workaround

Per-window input sources option does not work o
If the mouse cursor still moves then the shell isn't completely frozen.
gnome-shell actually uses a lot of CPU and processing to move the cursor
so if it does then gnome-shell itself is fairly awake.
