[Bug 1968213] Re: Icon theme reverts to Yaru when entering Appearance settings

2022-06-17 Thread Yahya Mateen
The issue is reproducible for me in two different manners:

First way:

1. Install gnome-tweaks and download a custom icon theme, for example:
[la-capitaine-icon-theme](https://github.com/keeferrourke/la-capitaine-icon-theme)
2. Move this icon theme to ~/.icons
3. Open gnome-tweaks and in Appearance -> Icons, select this icon theme
4. Open gnome-control-center and go to Appearance tab. *No need to do anything
further, just click on Appearance tab*

Other way:

1. Set a custom icon theme in gnome-tweaks (I am using
"la-capitaine-icon-theme", available at
https://github.com/keeferrourke/la-capitaine-icon-theme )
2. Minimize or close all open windows, and right-click to open desktop context
menu
3. Select "Change background"

The icons are reverted to Yaru-XX.

The problem is the fact that this icon reverting occurs when the
Appearance tab just opens rather than when some appearance setting is
changed (as if Ubuntu tries to revert theme and icon settings on launch
of Appearance tab, rather than invoking such a process on setting
change).

[Bug 1978838] Re: Couldn't connect to accessibility bus

2022-06-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
** Description changed:

  * Impact

  the apparmor profile blocks the connection to the accessibility bus
  since it hasn't been updated for the new socket location,
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/at-spi2-core/-/issues/43

  * Test Case

  start evince, it shouldn't print the warning

  dbind-WARNING **: Couldn't connect to accessibility bus: Failed to
  connect to socket /run/user/UID/at-spi/bus_0: Permission denied

+ start orca, it should be able to read the content of evince
+
  * Regression potential

  The change is only allowing an extra location in the apparmor profile,
  we kept also the old path for compatibility reasons and for making the
  profile easier to share between series. Allowing the extra location
  shouldn't create a regression but if the change was incorrect it is
  possible that evince would still bot be able to connect to the bus

[Bug 1979064] [NEW] Context menu shows again on other screen

2022-06-17 Thread Marcel Dan Gigi
Public bug reported:

When I right-click an application from the Dock, the context-menu/dialog
comes up with the different options, but when I click on one of them,
for some reason, the context-menu/dialog appears one more time but in
the left screen and when I click again in the context option in which
I'm interested it works correctly.

I have 2 screens, the secondary is on the left, and the dock is on the primary.
Im gonna attach screenshots of the process.

In the first image I bring the cursor near the Dock and it opens.
In the second image I right-click on an application, Terminal in this case.
After that I click on 'New Window'.
In the third image the context-menu/dialog shows up again in the secondary
screen.

[Bug 1979037] [NEW] Monitor numbers are almost invisible in an Ubuntu/Yaru session

2022-06-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Public bug reported:

Monitor numbers (displayed in the top left corner of each screen while
in the Screen Display settings) are almost invisible in an Ubuntu/Yaru
session. But they are big and bold in a GNOME (Adwaita) session. Both
using Wayland.

It looks like you need to have two monitors connected to test the
feature.

I've just finished testing 2x4K on i7-9750H with jammy and it works
perfectly. All default settings with DING enabled. I tested both HDMI

So something about this bug seems to be hardware-specific as you keep
mentioning. It would be really annoying if an OLED XPS was the minimum
requirement to reproduce the bug.
