[Bug 1993308] Re: Update gnome-calendar to 43.1

2022-10-25 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Hello Jeremy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gnome-calendar into kinetic-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
calendar/43.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
kinetic to verification-done-kinetic. If it does not fix the bug for
you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed-kinetic. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1985856] Re: Update Mutter to 42.5

I tested 42.5-0ubuntu1 on a Z13 (which prompted the heuristics change)
and can confirm it's working with Wayland and the non-functional
resolutions are no longer offered.

[Bug 1993907] Re: nautilus freezes randomly

2022-10-25 Thread Mariano Draghi
Resetting Tracker3 (the file indexing daemon) seems to have done the
trick for me. I'd need a couple days to confirm that the issue is 100%
gone, but there's definetely something wrong with Tracker3, my data,
and/or the new version of Nautilus in Ubuntu 22.10:

tracker3 reset --filesystem

DISCLAIMER: the above command will reset Tracker3 database, and trigger
a reindex, which might take some time and consume a fair amount of
CPU/resources depending on the configuration and the amount of files to
reindex.

[Bug 1975884] Re: Temporary screen freeze when gnome-shell logs "Removing a network device that was not added"

2022-10-25 Thread betteropensource
I have the same problem on a tower pc where I installed days ago ubunt 20.04
and then upgraded it to 22.04. This issue happened after some hour I left the
pc powered on with the monitor halted. When I returned for use it, I was able
to write the password to unlock the screen and press enter but the scree n
appeared freezed with half * password chars inserted and with the aspect of
loading something.
I checked that on energy settings I already have these:
- "shut down the screen": Off
- "automatic suspension": never

CTRL+ALT+F* did nothing. Around 20 seconds after I hit enter on the
unlock screen, it come back and I'm now writing here.

[Bug 1993907] Re: nautilus freezes randomly

2022-10-25 Thread Filip M
I can confirm this bug. In my case Nautilus automatically freezes if I
use the search in Nautilus or if I search for files in overview. I
haven’t been able to catch the output or why it freezes. I have upgraded
from 22.04 and previously from 21.10. As a heavy user of Nautilus for my
work this is a bit of a blocker at some times and reduces productivity,
especially because I can’t search or filter files.

[Bug 1915910] Re: evince does not print (apparmor, pxgsettings)

2022-10-25 Thread Etienne URBAH
Same issue with evince 43.0-1 and apparmor 3.0.7-1ubuntu2 on cinnamon
5.4.12-1 from Ubuntu 22.10 (Kinetic Kudu)

The apparmor workaround provided by Karsten has to be updated :

Inside '/etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.evince', add following line after the
line containing 'thunar' :

  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libproxy/0.4.18/pxgsettings Cx ->
sanitized_helper, # Print Dialog

This updated workaround works for me.

[Bug 1980334] Re: Support Quectel's modem(EM120/160) firmware update, fwupd

2022-10-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package fwupd - 1.7.9-1~20.04.1

---
fwupd (1.7.9-1~20.04.1) focal; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release, and drop all patches since they are merged.
  * Properly fall back to use DMI instead of /sys/class/dmi interface.
(LP: #1982103)
  * Build depends on mondemmanager 1.8 and libxmlb 0.3.6 to support
EM120/160. (LP: #1980334)
  * Don't stderr-fail the autopkgtest on modprobe error as they are
optional. (LP: #1966364)
  * Run fwupd-refresh under a dedicated fwupd-refresh user. This is
fixed in 1.1.7, so it's automatically included. (LP: #1969976)

[Bug 1994141] [NEW] incompatible versions of network-manager-openvpn and openvpn delivered in ubuntu22.10

2022-10-25 Thread josef dvoracek
Public bug reported:

After installing  network-manager-openvpn(1.10.0-1ubuntu2),
openvpn(2.6.0~git20220818-1ubuntu1) is installed as a dependency.

Mentioned NM plugin uses openvpn option `--cipher` instead of `--data-
ciphers`. With openvpn2.6.0+ this breaks existing setups - connection
never establishes and fails with message like:

```
DEPRECATED OPTION: --cipher set to 'AES-256-CBC' but missing in --data-ciphers
(AES-256-GCM:AES-128-GCM:CHACHA20-POLY1305). OpenVPN ignores --cipher for
cipher negotiations.
```
and
```
Connection reset, restarting [0]
```

reproducer: configure openVPN client against openVPN server with cipher
set to 'AES-256-CBC'.

workaround: manually install openvpn 2.5.x from sources and mask
distribution-provided openvpn 2.6.x.

proposed solution:

deliver compatible combination of network-manager-openvpn and openvpn.
