From my side the problem shows itself in the same manner, sometime is also

The problem started after the installation of Gstreamer libraries.

I don't know if this is a gnome or an awesome WM bug, but since there
was some gnome packages upgraded and the awesome package was not
upgraded, I think it might be a gnome problem.
The thing is awesome WM used to reserve the space where the

since the upgrade, maybe fixing that was what fixed it. I really don't

I noticed the same behaviour some times ago. I partially solved this by
completely disabling AGPGART kernel support. Could you please try if it works
for you too?
Obviously, that wasn't the right way to handle this. I'm going to do further
researches on it and file a new bug in GNOME, if
I forgot to ask you if you use a driver for a graphical card such nVidia
or ATI.

Try to switch temporarily to gdm by modifiy /etc/X11/default-display-
manager file and see what happens. When you added agpgart module to
blacklist file, did you check with lsmod if it was blacklisted
correctly?

It would be very useful if you can attach a backtrace of it. In order to do so,
you can login in a virtual console and launch the following command:
gdb /usr/bin/gnome-session -p pid_of_your_gnome-session
Once you reach gdb prompt, type the following instructions:
handle SIGKILL nopass stop

plugged my Kodak camera at the usb device and saw the popup alerting me. I
clicked to open in new windows and it opened it, but no file into.
Later, i tried to use digikam and he recognise my camera and i can see all the
photos.

Maybe I've found the reason for that feature. On my system I've installed
ubuntu with a near complete kubuntu set of packages (so it is a gnome+kde
system), my desktop is KDE.
I found that in my root dir there's a symbolic link named .hidden that points
