[Bug 2051838] Re: /usr/libexec/gdm-wayland-session: Error: WaylandMessage::Write() too many files to send
Some additional information. The problem is related to the Firefox snap. There are always two different PIDs in this flood of messages (283270 and 285102, in the log I pasted in the description). I just tried to kill them with kill -9 expecting my wayland session to die, but instead it just killed the two instances of Firefox that I had running. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2051838 Title: /usr/libexec/gdm-wayland-session: Error: WaylandMessage::Write() too many files to send To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/2051838/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1318090] Re: Bluetooth will not pair with Lenovo Bluetooth Keyboard
I get it resolved this way in my Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS. I followed up the link posted before by cbsuh in the first comment but I can show you how to pair it quickly and safe: Be sure you have the tool hcidump installed. If don't, sudo apt install bluez-hcidump Run hcitool scan and search for your device. In my case: hcitool scan Scanning ... XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with TrackPoint Next, run "sudo hcidump -at | grep -i passkey" and wait till you see the line with the passcode you'll have to enter with your keyboard and press enter. Now, go to your Bluetooth devices list (when you see your device listed), and after select it, choose Setup, Pair device and Next (in the dialogue) After a few seconds later, you will see the passcode number so enter it quickly and press Enter. You have to slide the lid of the right several times to put the keyboard in Discoverable mode. For me, it did not work at first time, but yes at the second time. In my case: sudo hcidump -at|grep -i passkey bdaddr XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX passkey 159066 The command prints out a lot of output, so with the grep you only pay attention to what's important. And, now it's paired. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318090 Title: Bluetooth will not pair with Lenovo Bluetooth Keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/1318090/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1299604] Re: evolution keeps asking for password
I think the fact that Evolution clears the password without interacting with the user is a bug on its own. All the workarounds are temporary and do not solve the problem. Evolution seems to have problems dealing with basic connectivity issues: connection drops, mail server temporary down (Yahoo, anyone?). Bottom line: Evolution should never ever clear the password of any account. It could ask the user to update the password if there are authentication problems (if they are not related to connectivity issues), but the decision to change the password should not be made without the user consent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299604 Title: evolution keeps asking for password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1299604/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 674563] Re: Passwordless users are prompted for their password when the screen locks
the ubuntu way of managing passwordless users is not through the use of empty passwords (which are dangerous as they will also allow free access to the machine services like ssh for that account), but using locked passwords (which will look like the account is disabled in gnome users settings) but enabling them to login without a password through gdm by adding them to the nopasswdlogin group (the don't ask for password on login checkbox) when adding a user and then managed that as an exception through pam. sadly the same problem described here would happen to those since gnome- screensaver is unaware of that special group and the workaround is to click on swich to another account and then selecting your own account to get out of the lock -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674563 Title: Passwordless users are prompted for their password when the screen locks -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 327872] Re: Broken support for MPEG-TS: HDV and AVCHD (.mts/.m2ts) files
Well, I have movies recorded with a Panasonic Camera (.MTS extension) and I have some issues (Karmic x86 and x86_64, two very different machines): - Nautilus doesn't generate a preview thumbnail. I did some mime-type hack (I can't remember what exactly) and now Nautilus does thumbnails. I don't know if this is fixed in Lucid. - Totem (Gstreamer) plays MTS files very good, but with annoying A/V sync problems (the video has 1 sec. or some of delay). I haven't found a bug of this (should I create one?). - VLC plays MTS fine too, synchronization is ok, but I see some artifacts, which seems are fixed in trunk [1]. [Bug 505307] Re: Nautilus freezing when rendering fake jpg
I am adding detailed instruction about how to reproduce this problem. 0) Create a new folder on your desktop. 1) Put a jpg image in your desktop. Anyone. Wait until the small preview is presented in the desktop (suppose the file is called image.jpg). 2) Run inskcape. Using open button from toolbar, open the image.jpg 3) Draw something over this image, like a rectangle. 4) Save this file and close inkscape. Does not change its name. 5) Watch your desktop. Wait until the small clock symbol appears, indicating that a preview is under construction. 6) Try to click on the folder created in your desktop. [Bug 409508] [NEW] duplicated pop e-mails
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Evolution downloads from the pop server all my old e-mails that had previously downloaded. This happens once in a while (3/4 months) but when it does is annoying (it takes a long time, and if I cancel it, it will start to download everything again). It might help to at least have an integrated tool to search and erase duplicated e-mails...
