[Bug 459380] Re: nautilus's media detections is wrong on multiple sony devices

2010-01-15 Thread Maharifu
Hi.
I just came across this because I was having similar problems with my 8GB Sony
microvault. However, isn't this bug the same as #477976? Because that is marked
as solved.
Furthermore, as a temporary fix, I commented the line mentioned in bug #477884
and my flashdrive is detected as a normal disk again.

Hi Maharifu, thx for taking a look into it, guess we're talking about
the same issue, I'll mark this one as duplicate and ask in the other one
whether this will be backported to karmic or is a lucid only fix.

[Bug 459380] Re: nautilus's media detections is wrong on multiple sony devices

2009-11-14 Thread Sense Hofstede
I'm very sorry, but I mistakenly thought that the bug reporting hook,
responsible for collecting extra data, for libmtp was included with Ubuntu.
Instead I had written a custom one and placed it on my system, making me think
it was on every system.
(I also gave you the wrong source package name, libmtp8 should have been
libmtp, but that doesn't matter now.)

I'll now have to ask you to manually rune two commands to collect some
data. While you execute those commands in the console, please make sure
the device is connected and turned on.

After you've connected the device, please run the commands 'mtp-detect' and
'lsusb'and and attach the output in two separate text files to this bug report.
Thanks in advance and my apologises for the invoncenience.

[Bug 459380] Re: nautilus's media detections is wrong on multiple sony devices

2009-11-12 Thread Sense Hofstede
The Sony Cybershot camer uses the MTP protocol, so this could be a bug in
libmtp8.
Could you please execute the command 'apport-collect -p libmtp8 459380 with
the camera connected to the computer and switched on to transfer mode? This
will attach extra information to this bug report about the way MTP sees the
camera.

Please also don't change the status of the bug with reading
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status. It was set to Incomplete because
the bug didn't contain enough information to be passed on to the
developers. Setting it to New, which this report is not, only confuses
the bug management processes.

2009-10-27 Thread benste
I tried the cybershot at the last few posts.

But the overall topic was made with multiple Sony Devices, problem is I
don't have the MicorVault flash drive arround me atm, I'll ask my dad to
give me this one back for some days, instead he'll get another driver
for this time.

could you make me a lists which values you still need from the 2nd Sony device ?
- I think the dirs part could be shifted cause the 2nd device was already
tried in an empty mode.

I'll try to get another Sony cam in near future to test it.
